DH just told his mom that we are going to WDW and she is pi$$ed

My MIL is the same way and she is 81. You have to remember the time in which they grew up. Right after/during the Great Depression and times were tough. Their generation is used to working hard for very little money. We invited my MIL to go along when we went to Disney the first time. My...

DVC question from a non-DVC person

I am sorry if this is not in the right forum. Please feel free to move it. This past April, we stayed at Bay Lake Tower as non-DVC members. We loved it! We are thinking about going back next year to Disney. We have been checking, and BLT does not come up online on reservations now. I know it...

    50's Prime Time review

I have booked us for PT in April. I so hope we get a great waiter/waitress. I have booked this for my dh. He loves meatloaf and this is the era in which he was raised. I hope he has fun.

Opinion: the best sit down meal in HS?

I don't know about what is good, but I can tell you we did not like the food at Playhouse Disney at the Hollywood and Vine two years ago. My husband and I both agreed that the food was not good at all. This time we are going to try the 50s Prime Time. Hoping it will be good.

Those with children with Type 1 diabetes, restaurant ?

For those of you with children who have Type 1 diabetes, do your children do better at the buffet or plate served restaurants? My six year old has Type 1 diabetes, and I have booked a few buffets for us. At first I was thinking that would giver her more choices (she is a picky eater), but I...

First time with DDP, please help

I forgot. I booked Prime Time at HS for dh. He loves meatloaf, so we will get his opinion on it. So, I guess that is our fifth. Still not sure about canceling CP. Probably will, though.

First time with DDP, please help

I mentioned it on the phone. I need to go back and put it on the ones I put online. I am debating getting the slipper dessert at 1900 Park Fare, though, because last time we ate at CRT and she remembers that dessert. (She didn't have diabetes then. :sad1:) I am debating getting it and letting...

First time with DDP, please help

Thanks again. I think I am going to drop one of the character meals. We have Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fair, Safari Breakfast and the Crystal Palace scheduled. I think I am going to drop Crystal Palace, because I know we can catch Pooh, Tigger and the gang at Epcot. The other three I am going to...

First time with DDP, please help

I know about the no-show etiquette, and I would not ever do it, but with three small children (one who has Type 1 diabetes, which is one of the reasons I want to make sure we have ADRS and set times for eating. Also, another reason the buffets are appealing because more in which she can choose)...

Downtown Disney, best day to go?

I can't figure out which forum this goes in, so if it needs to be moved, please do. We are going to Disney in April and I was wondering what is the best day of the week to go to Downtown Disney? Right now, I have us going on Wednesday, which is the day we are at Hollywood Studios. I figure...

    Taking kids out of School?

We are going in April, the week after spring break. Our kids are 8, 6 and 4. Dh has already talked to their teachers, and they were fine with it. Our 8 year old's teacher (3rd grade) even said she would make sure our daughter had her work ahead of time so she could do it during spring break and...

    ADR needed for Rainforest Cafe?

I tried to book Rainforest at DTD yesterday and the times I wanted were already booked. When we went two years ago, we tried to walk up and the wait was 90 minutes or so. We didn't eat there then. I opted for the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom this time with a better time. The way I...

You top 3 must have meals???

We went two years ago and did Chef Mickey's, CRT and the breakfast thing at the Hollywood and Vine with Playhouse Disney (can't remember the name, sorry.). We are planning a trip for April, and out of the ones we did last time, my oldest who is an 8 year old princess said she wanted to do...

First time with DDP, please help

Dh has booked a "surprise" trip for me for our 10th wedding anniversary in April. I know about it because he can't keep a secret. :rotfl2: We have been to Disney once before and stayed offsite. This time, he booked us onsite with the DDP. We have three children-8, 6 and 4. We will be...

BLT 1 BR vs. 2 BR

Hi, all. My husband has surprised me with a 10th anniversary trip to WDW this spring. We went to WDW two years ago and stayed offsite, but this time he booked at Bay Lake Tower, which is a miracle since he loved our offsite place. He has booked a two bedroom villa, but we are thinking...

    So Sad

Yes, in fact, two years ago today we were about to leave for our trip (or it may have been the day we left). I always say something around this time and my dh and oldest laugh and say, "She'll never get over it." This year, I have a trip in April in which to look forward, though.

    SeaWorld vs. Nick Jr. hotel

We will be making our second trip to the big castle soon. The first couple of days of our trip, we are going to stay at the Nick Jr. hotel because my 6 year old is dying to stay there. We had thought about going to SeaWorld while we are staying at Nick Jr. Dh said that we might want to consider...

Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa

We stayed there two years ago and loved, loved, loved it. We have recommended it to everyone we know going to visit there. In fact, some friends of ours who own a resort where we live stayed there back in Oct. and they loved it, too. We are going back to WDW in April, and I am shocked that...

Three things you learned on your last trip!

Okay, had to post three more things: 1) Disney knows how to treat special needs guests. My mother was in a wheelchair because she had back surgery last year and can't hold up to walking for long periods. Not only she, but our entire party, had a wonderful time because we did not have to wait...
