    storm shelter in Oklahoma

We had the unit that is installed in the garage floor. I think we paid in the neighborhood of $3500. Well worth the piece of mind in knowing that we could scramble and get to somewhere safe very quickly. We had a five person for a family of four. Yes, they're small, but during the four years...

How long did you wait to be seated at Ohana?

March 08 trip: We arrived 10 min prior and waited an add'l 35 minutes. We looked around in the gift shop because there was no seating in the lounge. We didn't leave the restaurant till nearly 7:30 (5:30 ADR). Thus missing our planned evening entertainment, Fantasmic. No complaints...

Cape May or Boma for Breakfast

They are really two different experiences. We ate at Cape May before leaving last year and Boma before leaving this year. Cape May is fun due to the characters and the food is your standard breakfast buffet fare (there is a yogur bar, though). We saw Boma as a bit more upscale experience...

    Candy Lady in Japan

She has a cart directly across from the drummers, just outside Mitskoshi Dept Store. We arrived at least 30 minutes early during our Spring Break trip. She had seen both the boys waiting and was nice enough to choose each one of them during her show. One chose a dragon and one chose a monkey...

Putting already bought theme park tickets on room key at check-in...

BabyFu18 - We check-in to the resort first, then drive over to SOG to purchase the tickets. Then head back to the hotel guest service desk to have them switched over. Logistically, we should probably get the tix first then check-in, but I'm always too anxious plus we usually have about an hour...

Putting already bought theme park tickets on room key at check-in...

I would say "yes". We buy our tickets at Shades of Green then go back to our Disney Resort and have them combined with our room key. It's a lot more convenient than carrying around both tickets and room keys.

Which Moderate is best for kids?

We haven't stayed at CSR, but I can comment on FQ. POFQ would be great for both your kids and your mom. It's a smaller resort so less walking. My kids loved the serpant slide at the pool (cold front while we were there and there was still no keeping them out of the water!) and the arcade...

    PO Riverside or ASMu ?

We stayed at POR when my son was 5. He enjoyed the pool, playground, and fishing with cane pole (don't know if they still do that). We found the resort to be quiet and the scenery very inviting. The food court had a good variety. I think it's been recently remodeled. You'll have a fridge in...

    Ohana Or TappanYaki

Both are excellent choices, but I agree with the prev poster. If you live near a teppanyaki style rest. I'd go with Ohana. Are you taking children? Mine loved sampling all the delicious meats at Ohana. When they were younger they really liked the atmosphere of the Poly and the races at...

2007 AAA Rates are out ...

Yea!! Try your dates for AAA reservations! I just booked a March 16-18, 2007 stay at the HRH via the Universal Orlando Website and was able to get a AAA rate of $386.10 per night for a club level room. The rack rate which I was quoted over the phone was $429 per night, so we saved a little for...

    WL transportation question

We just stayed at the WL in May. I was worried about the transportation after reading some posts. However, we had no problems at all. We took the boat to MK and Contemporary and the ride itself is 10 minutes. Very relaxing. We took buses to EPCOT and MGM. The ride was not bad at all...

    Breathless and Illumination, any comments?

We took a Breathless Illuminations Cruise during our trip this past May. Our boys (9 & 12) had an absolute blast! They loved the "speedy" cruise our captain took us on following the show. Our captain was great and knew all sorts of info about the parks and resorts. We certainly felt special...

Why is Le Cellier so popular???????

Word of mouth! That got us in the door the first time and the great food (as mentioned, cheese soup, juicy steaks, etc.) have kept us coming back!! It's not a vacation until my crew has had their pretzel bread!! Not to mention, we all enjoy the dark, cozy, "away from the parks" feeling we get...

Would you do the DP again?

Without a doubt we would do the dining plan again! :thumbsup2 Sure, it's a lot of food, but we found ourselves eating dessert and elminating the afternoon or evening snack. We loved the chance to eat at restaurants we may not normally choose. For our boys, the dining was just as much of an...

How much time do you allow for set down dining?

There are four in our party. We had the Dining Plan on our last trip so we definitely ordered appetizers and desserts! We usually allowed an hour and a half for our meals, except for the evening we dined at the Biergarten (buffet). Enjoy!
