Our family will be crusing DCL again in 2013. We plan to be in two cabins -- myself and DW in one, DS1 (22) and DS2 (20) in the other.
DW and I are "gold", so I think we want to be the primary for each cabin -- so reservations will have myself and DS1 in one cabin; DW and DS2 in the other...
so, a bit of wishful thinking ...
what if DCL offers a 100-day around-the-world cruise at a price and a time that DW and I would be able to go.
Sounds magical ... but then I started thinking ...
how soon before a 250 square foot stateroom (with verandah) gets claustrophoic?
how soon...
Okay,
I know the current DCL Caribbean cruises are "closed loops" -- starting and ending at Port Canaveral.
But what happens if stormy weather diverts the ship to a different port to disembark (and presumably embark the next boatload) ?
The rational part of me says that "closed loop"...
With so much the same on the two ships, why do they have differences that don't have much substance?
for example,
Teen Club is called "Aloft" on Wonder and "The Stack" on Magic
Deck 9 Buffet is "Beach Blanket Buffet" on Wonder and "Topsiders" on Magic
Restaurant is "Triton's" on...
May 20th -- applied for a 10-year adult passport for DS (used about to expire child passport as proof of citizenship) at a local Town Clerk
May 27th -- receive email notification that application being processed (not bad, considering Memorial Day was in there); website has been updated...
Okay, we all know about getting items autographed by the Disney characters.
On our last cruise, I decided to do something different; I brought a canvas tote and had all of the CMs that were special to us sign it -- our stateroom host, the server and assistant server at dinner, the server at...
the small vehicles on Castaway Cay are powered by recycled cooking oil !!!

We're thinking about spending a few days at Universal and/or WDW before our next cruise and will probably have a rental car -- so figure it makes sense to take it to the port. Which agency is easiest for dropping off at the Port? Budget? Avis? Hertz?
We'll be using Disney transfers back...
After 3 Magic cruises and 1 Wonder cruise, I thought I had pretty well done everything on-board.
then I got thinking about what I haven't done ...
I've never been in the fitness center or spa
I've never had breakfast or lunch except at Topsiders (other than departure day)
I've never...
has anyone ever given room stewards, dining room server/assistant lottery tickets? where (between airport and port) could I buy some Florida lottery tickets?
to find out what your OBC is?
I've lost track -- from Disney Visa, to onboard booking credit, to TA obc's.
I'd like to know what I start with so I can figure out how much more I need to budget
Okay, so we show up at the terminal, all set to enjoy a nice week's cruise ... all documents in order, etc. Luggage checked all the way through to our stateroom.
but, the CM decides one of us is too sick to board.
does that happen? or would we board but be quarantined? would we be given...
My DS18 may have a conflict at the beginning of our next cruise -- is it possible to have him deliberately miss departure so he would be able to join us at the first non-US port? We'd be very up-front with DCL about this plan -- has anyone every done this?
