    Clothing for Alaska

Having spent 25+ living in AK (now Seattle). all of the above are good pieces of advice. The most important nugget to keep "top of mind" has been mentioned. The weather can/will change quickly. Plan accordingly and be prepared to dash back to the cabin to add layers or to shuck off layers as the...

    Starbucks Coming to Disney Parks

:surfweb: Coming from the mothership of Starbucks (Seattle), I am glad that Disney is listening to the consumers. I will continue to bring my own coffee to the parks as I am not a big fan of the Starbucks product. Fresh ground coffe in a ziplock bag will last the trip and I will save me sweet...

can you book for someone else on board?

Will you be going on that cruise as well? If you are I would think that you could just make a reservation for the whole group. :dance3: If you are not going to be going on that cruise I do not think you can. If nothing else ask the pre-booking agent on board and they will/can give you a...

    POR vs. POFQ

nurse27, the walkways in both the evening and the morning can be truly spectacular. If you do see other couples walking around, I promise that at least 60% will be holding hands. (well that is the way I remember it.:) ) The walks were for us a very magical, dare I say a little romantic...

What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

:surfweb: I haven't seen this posted yet, but I am tired. :) For those of us that require coffee, bring your own to brew in the room. (disclaimer: I love disney) Nescafe is not really coffe, it is a brown liquid that has had a coffee bean waived at it. :rotfl: I brought some fresh ground...

    How secure are the safes?

The safes are...well safe to use.:thumbsup2 We have been there several times and have had no problem. The idea of only one person in charge of the key is a good one. That way when it gets lost you know who to blame when it gets lost :confused3. <ehem> that person was me. :sad2:

Asking someone else's parents to chip in for trip...

To be abrupt, but from a place of "been there, done that". Do not let this trip be about anything but you and your mom. Just let the parents know that times are difficult, they know this as well as anyone, and you cannot afford to pay for the kids. If the parents want to have a...
