    Space Mountain being changed?!?!?!!!!

If you guys all say it's one track, I believe you. Chalk it up to my faulty memory. Since it is just one track, I wonder how they could completely redo the current WDW tracks with the new one? Again, I don't think they changed the loading area. Did they? They'd have to completely revamp the...

    Space Mountain being changed?!?!?!!!!

I live in Colorado so I spend as much time at DLR as I do at WDW. In fact, I was at DLR last December and leave for WDW on Wednesday (yay!). It's funny how the rides at DLR and WDW are different. There are so many threads comparing the same rides at the two parks. My opinion is that...

Poly Building Request. Have you had luck?

I requested a room in Samoa last time I was at the Poly but had no luck. I requested when I booked and then again when I arrived. Have any of you had luck and did you do anything different? I'm going again this summer and requested Samoa. Not getting the building I want won't in any...

The *NEW* Polynesian Resort FAQ thread - *2008*

I was just visiting the Poly last Saturday (3/8). The pool was open! It was cold outside though so only a few brave souls entered the pool. Even the lifeguard was bundled up.

    Best resort for young kids...Poly?

We took our 3 kids (7, 5, 2) to the Poly. We had a blast there. They loved Ohanas, the Luau, the ease of using the monorail. The room was spacious and the grounds are beautiful. We loved watching the fireworks from the marina (with the music pumped in to the resort as a nice touch). We...

    Volcano slide at the Poly

We were at the Poly last summer with our then 7 year old, 5 year old, and 2 year old. You can check out life vests for the kids at the marina (no charge but they need a driver's license). The Volcano pool was a huge hit with them. The 2 year old loved hanging out at the zero entry area...

    PAL MICKEY in resort?

I just bought one at the Poly last week. I think it was around $69 total.

Does anyone think Luke from the VP DVD is a little on the annoying side??

Erin may have an annoying voice but she's not bad to look at. She must be tall. Everyone else (guys included) are a couple of inches shorter than her.

The next attraction to go: MGM Sounds dangerous

I agree about Honey I Shrunk the audience. It would seem easy to replace this attraction. Didn't it replace Captain EO? Maybe I'm naive but wouldn't it be fairly easy to replace it with another 3D adventure? Maybe something having to do with the Incredibles?

Identical rides at DL and WDW?

I was surprised at how different Splash Mountain is. At DL the bees sining the Laughing Place song seems to go on longer. At WDW you barely hear the song "What can poor Brer Rabbit do to keep from becoming rabbit stew?" This happens after the Laughing Place song. At DL, mother rabbit...

Back from the Poly with mostly good reviews

We checked in at about 3:30 p.m.. There were lots of folks checking in at the same time. The Luau was a 2 credit table service. Cinderella's was 2 credits but we paid cash. The price of Cindy's was something like $33 or $37 each compared to Hoop Dee Doo and Luau at $50 each.

Back from the Poly with mostly good reviews

Thank you. I'm glad you found the info helpful. I wonder if pressing the issue might have gotten me the room I wanted. It might have. I also could have faxed the resort a few days in advance like I've heard others have done. I had decided before we left that the room location wasn't a...

Back from the Poly with mostly good reviews

I had the Major Domo which was much better than I anticipated. The kids got their picture with Cinderella when we entered (you get two picture packages included, as well as a wand for the little princessess and a sword for the princes). The character interaction was great. Snow...

Back from the Poly with mostly good reviews

Captain Cooks - They've moved in pretty well. It doesn't look shabby. The seating inside is limited but there is a seperate dining room that we often had to ourselves. There is also patio seating (but in the Florida heat we only used it once). Again, I didn't like the food. Room Request -...

Back from the Poly with mostly good reviews

We flew back from Florida last night (...and boy are my arms tired). The Poly is indeed beautiful. We stayed for 6 nights. I requested the Samoa building, 3rd floor when I made my reservations. Instead I got Aoreatoa 2nd floor. They were booked solid. I didn't really mind and it was a...

    Heading to Poly?

We leave a week from today! Hopefully a week from tonight I'll be enjoying a Lapu lapu by the Volcano pool.

Can you purchase a Pal Mickey at the Polynesian? I was thinking about grabbing one while kids are at the pool and sneaking into the room. Are they worth the $$?

Thanks for the info. I do wish Nachos were available. There's nothing better than munching yummy snacks by the pool. But I have a feeling we won't miss them for long.

Just back from our first POLY trip...

We're leaving in two weeks and I asked about a pack n play. They told me they had them and to ask when we check in and they'll make sure one is in our room.
