    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

I understand. I didn't want anyone to do something "wrong", but I just don't understand why one day makes such a HUGE difference. I hope your rate will drop, and I'm glad you are okay if it doesn't. Thanks for responding!

    car rental MCO/ 2 drivers

If they join Alamo insiders there is an extra driver free. I think you need to check the fine print to see who qualifies as an extra driver though...

what are the alamo codes right now

The insider's code/$35 coupon have worked wonders for me. I currently have 2 standards reserved for $97.34/total for 8 days starting next week. We are a family of 6 and a minivan was our option...however those are pricing out around $315. I think an over $100 savings is a good enough reason...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

Ok, I have a really dumb question. Is there a penalty for returning a car early?? I'm just thinking there is literally one day difference in our rentals. What if you rented a car until the 2nd, but returned it on the 1st? I'm not trying to be dishonest, but it really seems unfair that your...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

Swooning! My rate dropped below $100...and we are still 5 days out! $97.34/total for an 8 day and some hours rental of a standard through Alamo. I wish everyone was seeing rates like these...

Well, it looks like our Alamo standard rental has quit it's downward movement. We are sitting at $101.92/total for 8 days. It is definitely a price I can live with. Would have thought I had died and gone to heaven if it actually dropped below $100, but beggars can't be choosers, right?!? Here is...

I'm going to be *that* person...upgrading tickets question.

Thank you everyone!! Finally got a nap and can read real words again!! I don't think I'm up to awesome limerick writing, though (that was great!!). We will definitely wait and add that extra day when we arrive. THANKS!!

I'm going to be *that* person...upgrading tickets question.

I admit, I did read Cheshire Figment's AWESOME sticky about tickets, and boy -- it was everything and anything! Thank you for that. However, chalk it up to me working a night shift and not having slept yet -- or my missing the point completely -- but I have a question...(sorry!) We leave...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

Aww, I'm sorry guys -- I wish we were all getting great deals and could celebrate together. Is Halloween an issue with rental costs? I guess Iwill never understand why someone who is renting one day less than me, uses the same codes and acutally has less hours should have to pay $200+ more...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

This is so exciting, haha! My ressie was down again this morning so we are at $113/total for a standard through Alamo. Since we are going with 2 cars this trip to hold our family of 6, it is $226/total -- far better than any minivan I've found. I hope everyone else can get some great deals...

    Advantage Car Rental??

We used Advantage here in Milwaukee earlier this year and it was no different than any of the "name brand" rental agencies. They tried to push their insurance a bit, but so do all the others. We would definitely try them again, especially for $30. I believe I reserved a mid-size (??) and we...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

It is so strange how these rental companies work. Our dates are basically the same (we leave the day after you)...and I have a standard through Alamo (however my understanding is Alamo at MCO doesn't have standards so we will be getting a full size??) for $120/total using the AA coupon and the...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

Thank you so much for the advice. I did try it, and got something around $390 for our dates (plus the coupon it doesn't deduct). Bummer. However the more I have thought about it, the more I am okay with two cars. It will be a pain because I can get lost going to the grocery -- but I have my...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

I like the way you think...especially since we are parting ways a couple of days during the trip. This way I can rely on myself to get places and DH can have his own ride. Plus we will have plenty of room for luggage and carseats. So we are a little over a week out and I have two Alamo...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

I'm sooo frustrated! Our dates came up on the latest Alamo insider deals -- but not our needed car. Minivan's for our dates are still around the $500-$700 mark...way too much in my opinion. I'm thinking -- both DH and I are valid drivers...and I can get a midsize or fullsize around $150...

Bring your own boosters? Saves you money and quite often you can gate check them with the airline. Just a suggestion. In 2004 we rented from Dollar and paid for a carseat. It was NASTY. Dirty and old. I had to cover it with a towel because I didn't want my son to touch the thing when he...

    booster seat/stroller question

Unless things have changed you should be able to gate check all three items. We flew in 2009 on Airtran and gate checked our stroller and two backless boosters. No problems and no extra charges. I did buy a bag for our upcoming trip simply because the boosters did get a bit dirty last time...

    Alamo Tips

Does National stock crossovers and do any of these crossovers (Alamo or National) at MCO hold more than 5 passengers? I feel like I'm playing russian roulette, but I can't seem to find a decent price on a minivan but got an "okay" rate on a crossover...but I need to hold 6 people. Getting so...

    October 2011 Car Rental Rates

Thank you for your reply. I currently drive a Traverse, so I totally get what you mean about space! It is an excellent point because if I forget to take the stroller out when I go grocery shopping...well, I tend to mutter some very unlady-like words to myself over my stupidity. Any idea when I...
