My parents surprised me yet again

That's such a happy story. Warms the cockles. Good for your parents! And good for you! Merry Christmas, Skip. :santa:

    OT - Rumor alert - IPHONE/VZW announcement June 28th

As of now I'm planning to drop the AT&T coverage because it sucks around here. Love the phone, hate all the dropped calls. Going back to Verizon when the contract is up. So many of these rumors...they all come to nothing. For now I'm sticking this in the "Too good to be true" column. Hope...

    "complete dork"

Uberdorks. I embraced my Disney Dorkiness long ago. Welcome to dorkdom, OP. People make fun, but it is easier once you embrace it...and it is pleasant here, too. :)

    Travel Guide Books

Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2010 is the best of the bunch.

    How do you justify deluxe?

I wear a hairshirt 50 weeks out of the year and flog myself nightly. Seriously? Why anyone would feel any desire to "justify" taking a vacation is something I'll never know. I certainly wouldn't bother to attempt it. If someone else doesn't like it, too bad. Now, if you want a deluxe...

    Medical Transcription

You could be a nurse. You could totally do it. The schooling isn't that hard and whatever fear you might have you could get over. I don't know anything about Transcription and don't pretend to. If that's your goal, I wish you the best. But that "I don't think I could be a nurse" thing...

    Why isn't vehicular manslaughter murder?

If someone's mind wanders and they turn when they shouldn't or blow through a red light and kill me, I don't want them punished. They didn't mean to kill me. Accidents happen. And if they're halfway-decent people, they'll be beating themselves up over it for the rest of their life, anyway...

Parent / teacher was last night.

The "regular" flu doesn't generally kill young and otherwise healthy people. This H1N1 is doing more of that than "regular" flu. I'm not pulling the kids out of school, but I might if this flu was close enough. And while I applaud efforts to keep sick people at home in generally and...

    Kindle User please give feedback

I know I don't NEED to point out a library to you, Liz, but I'm doing it anyway. It's an easy way to get rid of books you no longer need. The hard part is actually deciding which books one no longer needs. If it is an ebook, it is easy - no waffling, no "Should I or shouldn't I?" So, bonus...

    Sleuths Mystery Theater

I really enjoyed the Sleuths show, but I think it is more adult in nature. Not x-rated "adult", just that it is not child centered and a lot of it would go over the heads of kids. I don't think that most kids would love it. And the food leaves a LOT to be desired...the dinner is less important...

Has anyone shipped packages to your home from a Walt Disney Resort?

Yuperdoo. Beach Club, Grand Floridian, Poly and AKL. They even got me the boxes, tape gun, shipping labels, marker, pen and form to fill out. Staying club level, they got me all this stuff and charged much more than when I just went to the front desk and asked for it. But they told me...

    Credit Card

Yes and no. :) If you want to make phone calls and watch PPV movies (not sure that Disney has them), you'll be needing to leave some sort of deposit - credit card, cash, whathaveyou. But if you don't want to make those calls, sign restaurant charges, movies, et cetera, then NOPE, you...

    Faxing room request

Or not. I don't think it ever did. They finally admitted that they toss them out. I've never requested anything I didn't pay for and have always had really good luck. The worst view I ever had was of a courtyard at the CBR...and it wasn't ugly. Good luck, whatever you do!

Need help deciding which MK VIEW hotel...

I like GF and the Poly. Generally would rather be at the Poly and see the GF than the other way around. But they're both nice. The Contemporary is not my cup of tea. Good luck deciding.

Resort transportation... How bad (or good) is it really?

I rode public transportation a lot back in the day. Disney busses are the same as every other regular old public bus except that the signs that normally say, "Drugs are bad" and "Don't smoke while you're pregnant" now say, "Woo-hoo Mickey!" and stuff like that. Once in a while there are...

What is your 'last night in Disney' tradition?

    1. Pack up all the crap. Realize I may have over-shopped just a wee little bit. Try to make it all fit and then realize that I have to either ship some home or buy another suitcase or gigantic bag and haul it on the plane as carry-on. 2. Worry about the total on the folio they'll be...

Mono from MK to Epcot then back?!?!?!

I know you're trying to help and don't mean anything personal by this, but you are so wrong. There are two monorails when leaving the MK. 1.) The "express" monorail, which takes you to the TTC. 2.) The "resort" monorail which stops at each resort and the TTC. There is no monorail that...

Mono from MK to Epcot then back?!?!?!

You can take the monorail, but you'll have to transfer at the TTC. It might be faster to take a bus to the Beach Club and then walk from BC to Le Cellier...or walk over to the Contemporary and take a bus to Epcot. In any event, it is MUCH more trouble than a meal at Le Cellier is worth...

    On Line Check In Question

Here's a wacky idea: When something is going wrong with the trip...call the travel agent! Whatever trouble you're having, they'll have dealt with it before, know how to fix it, and get it done. And you won't have to look into it or argue with bonehead company employees about it, etc...

    Wwyd ??

I wouldn't switch hotels because I find it to be a major pain in the ***. When on a Disney vacation, who needs more work?! :confused3 Good luck with your decision.
