    Ashes spread in WDW

We scattered some of my dad's ashes up in Maine near where we used to vacation when we were kids, and are now taking our own kids (all seven families!). The rest of Dad is sitting in the funeral home box, waiting for another idea. I never thought of bringing his ashes to WDW, but when I went...

Space Mountain vs. Big Thunder Mtn.

DH and I had lvoed both mountains but for our first trip with the kids (DD8 and DS5) in November we weren't sure how they'd like them, especially my son who has little ride experience. We started with Goofy's Barnstormer -- he howled laughing the whole time. Then we went to BTMRR -- he loved...

    1900 Park Fare

We went to 1900 Park Fare or the Cinderella dinner and had a lovely time. My DD8 was in a Cinderella gown and DS5 in a Prince Charming costume I made for him (otherwise he'd have insisted on a Cinderella dress himself.) We found the food choices and quality good to very good. All the...

    Looking for Snow White

We saw Snow White in November -- last character of the trip! -- on the porch at the right-hand end of Town's Town Square restaurant, just over from the stroller rental. It was a great wrap-up to our trip. We had seen Cinderella at her 1900 Park fare dinner (also very nice) but a random...

    Barnstorm?

There were plenty of grownups on it. It is not your state fair/carnival kiddie roller coaster, but it is less intense than the biggies. We used it as a barometer to determine how our kids (DD8, DS5) would handle roller coasters -- the youngest was tall enough for the Mountains, just, but was...

Photopass... Anyone else here think its a ripoff?

We ended up not buying any photopass pictures -- maybe if we'd gotten more than a couple of dozen I'd have gotten the CD but none of them were worth the individual prices. I'm posting, though, to say that not only did the photopass photogs NOT give us any trouble about takingour own shots...

    clams in turtle

Last month we went to both -- waited for Clam in Turtle, it was broken down, went to Crush ("DUUUUUDE!!!!") and then as we were leaving the pavilion they were letting people back in for Clam in Turtle. It was cute but not a huge big deal. I would equate it to a Snow White or Peter Pan type...

What's the best character dining experience

Granted, we have nothing to compare it to but we loved dinner at 1900 Park Fare last month. For our kids the princesses are more the thing, more than Mickey or Pooh or others, so after we couldn't get CRT we went for Cinderella at GF. I really enjoyed the buffet -- it was good for the kids and...

    Restrooms in the parks?

My kids both hate loud toilets but I don't recall either of them fussing over the toilets at WDW. They are almost all automatic -- and very nice! The only rather old creaky one I noticed was in Norway, and even that one was better than at your average mall or department store.

Looking For These Characters... Any Recent Sightings?

We saw Horace and Clarabell just in front of the entrance to MK in the first week of November -- two of our kids' first Disney autographs!

    character connection at epcot

We saw Mickie, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy at the Character Connection, in their fancy blue duds...not a Visa card thing, as we don't have one. It was very nice -- no line, very low key -- in fact, at one point no one was waiting for Pluto and he was shrugging his shoulders, scratching his head...

    Which rides to avoid?

My husabnd nearly threw up on BodyWars. He can't even watch when I go on the Tea Cups with the kids. He loved Test Track and Soarin', no problem.

    Mad Hatter Tea Cup Concern

He can't even watch! The spinners are my job! The kids (DD8 and DS5) were psyched to spin the cup but weren't getting much going -- I asked if they wanted me to spin it, they said Yes and I spun us till we couldn't see straight. I stumbled like a drunk when we got out. That's fun! PS, I'm...

How long in the safari ride at AK

It's just about right. A nice length after so many three minute rides!

Where can you go to watch the fireworks if you are not in the park?

Our kids really love fireworks but can't quite handle the noice. We watched Wishes from the marina at GL after dinner at 1900 Park Fare and it was really nice. They were playing the music back closer to Gasparilla's but we couldn't hear it.

Rain Rain Rain predicted EVERY day (m)

Ten days and then again a week before our trip earleir this month rain was predicted almost every day. It varied back and forth -- all days, a few days, most days -- until we left, then it was supposed to rain one day for sure, others a low chance. NO rain, none, for five days, not a drop...

    will i make it?

-- but we were there a fewweeks ago and had a 6:30 ADR at Cape May. We walked into Epcot after dinner, rode Maelstrom and walked all the way back around and had time to scout out a spot (standing, not the best vioew but fine) to watch Illuminations from in front of the US or so.

Living Seas open during Epcot Extra Evening Hours?

We saw Turtle Talk and rode the new ride during evening EMH earlier this month.

    Bad location at AKL?

We just got back -- we desparately wanted a bunk bed room and when I was checking us in she said we weren't in one -- but then she went in the back to see what she could do and came back with a bunk bed room. We were very happy -- this was key for our family of four -- BUT it was a poor view...

    High School Musical pep rally

Do they sing songs from the movie -- which ones? I'm saving this as a surprise for my DD8 and DS5 when we go next week. They will FLIP! Getcha-head-in-the-game!
