Prices are plummeting. I am now booked with Budget through Costco for 10 days in a midsize at $195 (including extra driver).

They are pretty low quality (they get ripped fairly easily). You might be better off picking something up at walmart or target ahead of time.

I can't answer re: best locations in the area, but I do suggest booking the lowest price you can find, and then continue to rebook every time you see the price come down. Most rental car agencies do not take your credit card information when you reserve the car and there is no risk to booking...
