Just wanted to share my dd15's experience on a Carnival cruise she was on over Easter with a friend (and friend's family):goodvibes . My dd said the youth area was not as nice as the Magic's, no atmosphere. If there wasn't a planned activity the area was closed, no just hanging out with...

Cruise secrets that DCL doesn't tell you

We had a picture mat signed, I put it in a large manilla envelope with my sharpie (I choose to only use black). Just to be sure I got it back, I put our name and room number on the back of the mat. We just made sure to get a picture that fit the direction of the mat opening (specifically asked...

    Disney Ship Whistle / Horn

I loved hearing the horn on the ship, got me all choked up... I have since downloaded it to my ipod and used it the other day at the gym before I got on the treadmill (brought a smile to my face).

Did anyone run into Debbie (Bride2007), I wondered how her wedding went. Boy, sounds like we missed out on a funny Match your mate show. I remember one cruise we were on and they played a game like the Newlywed game and one question was where is the most unusual place you and your partner...

Sue, I completely know how you feel about the fresh fruit (we enjoyed that too!) Although I gained weight on the cruise so I enjoyed more than just fruit. I keep telling Mike that we can move to St. Thomas, he can be a taxi truck driver and I can braid hair :rotfl: It was great to have...

I haven't had the time to check in to see what was happening with everyone. I just read the last 4 pages and my anxiety level was getting up there. It was like an episode of 24 with Jack Bauer! We are leaving Friday morning (9:30 flight). One last day to work and finish packing up. Does...

Yahoo!! No school again today. The best part was that we found out around 9:00 last night. Has anyone used the Disney Visa rewards cards on the ship? I'm not sure how to use it...

Yeah!!! No school today due to the wind chill temp (-20). Might take a trip to the stores to shop for the trip. I found shorts for myself at JCPenny's in the Misses dept, don't know if the kids/jrs dept had them too.

Sue, Thank you for all your time you put into "the list". We are anxiously counting down the days!! I have my girls taking vitamins and I bought some Airborne, just in case anyone starts to catch something. Working at an elementary I see a lot of sick kids, fevers have been lasting up to a...

What a wonderful idea Lisa! What date is your anniversary? Our's in October 10(10 10, can't forget that date), next October will be 20 years for us (that is the excuse for the 2007 cruise), although it is a stretch from February to October.

Just thought I'd share my husband's luggage woes from his trip to Mexico: He left Friday, thru Houston, to Saltillo Mexico. He got his luggage Sunday night at his hotel. He came home today! The worst part was that there was only 9 passengers on his flight and 7 had lost luggage...

Planning on shopping for some cruise clothes this weekend. It's a little hard to think of shorts and bathing suits when I am freezing!! At least I hope some stores will have shorts out. We also are going to work on our door sign. Won't be as fancy as some I've seen posted but the girls want...

Happy Birthday Lisa!:bday: My daughter, Hannah, and I went back to Home Depot to get some more green mickey's and as luck would have it an employee was standing right there. After she walked away I took a few, ok, more than a few, and we quickly walked away. We are pretty much open to any...

We started a Mickey countdown the other day. We trimmed the Mickey paint samples from Home Depot (thank you Home Depot!), I numbered them and we taped them to the mantle. Everyday taking down a Mickey, means the trip is getting closer. I too am starting to pick some things up. The picture...

A 3:00 meet sounds good with us. I know my girls have been "talking" with some of the other kids online, so that would be nice to meet before going to the clubs. I am open to any ideas that might have worked well on your previous cruises.

A good book to read while cruisin'

I'd recommend the Myron Bolitar character books by Harlan Coben. I am also going to a "Breakfast with Books" at our library on Saturday. The librarian makes recommendations on different books and gives a short run down on the story and characters. I'll ask her for some Carribean cruisen'...
