The ship moves VERY slow during this time ( I suppose because of the fireworks). We had no breeze on our cruise. Plus the pirate party is like a jazzercise class. So, I'd be prepared. pirate:

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites on 09/29. It is new, very nice, and completely smoke-free. We got an internet rate of $89 plus tax. I would definitely recommend it. :thumbsup2

We took the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Martin and had a great time.

We were there when it opened - 10 AM. I would recommend this. It only makes it seem more exciting to be thaaaaaaat close to the ship. The time until we boarded went by very quickly with registration, character pictures, general wondering around.

We checked our rolling cooler with our luggage. There was no problem. It found its way to our staterooms with the rest of our luggage. Our steward was great to keep our beverages iced down all week.

It really was not that bad. We just rolled out of bed, threw on clothes and went. The process itself only took 5-10 minutes. We went to Parrot Cay afterwards, ate breakfast, and then went on with our day. Try to catch a few ZZZZZZ's that afternoon and you'll be fine.

We had no problems on the 09/30 Eastern. In fact, we checked our cooler with the rest of our luggage so we wouldn't have to roll it around until our stateroom was ready.

Early. You would hate to miss any of the pirate party - and your kids would definitely not want to miss it. pirate:

The CM told me as I checked in at the port that he didn't even need the cruise docs since I had registered online.

We were on the 09/30 and I totally agree with you! The soda did not taste good at all.

I packed a few snacks but you don't need to take much. There is fruit at Goofy's Galley which is a great snack for the kids.

It's quite simple. As you enter the terminal, your bags will go through x-ray. There is someone who will give you a boarding number. As you go upstairs, there are employees who can check your paper work. Then, you go to the counters and check-in. That process only takes 10 minutes or so...
