What major chain restaurants are around DL

    DCA Packed?

Hmm, was there on Saturday. Longest wait was Mulholland Madness at about 10 minutes. Go figure. Almost got to ride TSMM, but they closed it down while I was in line. Said they were experiencing technical difficulties. My theory: they have a lot of CM's to train on it, so they shut it down on...

Fast Pass question RE: Nemo submarine voyage

Someone mentioned that they rode during the fireworks and it was a 1/2 hour wait. That would seem to indicate that the lines have died down from last year. At this time last year, it was over an hour wait no matter what time of day you got in line, including during the fireworks.

    Disneyland Park TRIVIA

    - The Mona Lisa is in Minnie's house. - It's an X-Wing fighter. - The fireflys are visible from the POTC boats (included in price of ticket) and from the Blue Bayou restaurant (costs a little extra.) My questions: What is the last line in Fatasmic! and who says it? What is the name...

    Can someone explain pin trading?

The whole concept always confused me. Step 1: You buy some pins. Step 2: trade them for pins you like better. Why not just buy the pins you like better in Step 1 and skip Step 2? Or is the fun more in the interaction with other pin traders? That's what I'm thinking.

    Where R the Turkey Legs?

There's a cart at the hub, just walk around the Partners Statue until you find it. Also one in Frontierland near Mark Twain entrance. A couple more in park too.

Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes job question(s)

    1. No, but I knew some people who worked on it. (I worked POTC.) It's hard work, that's all I know. The only cast members who are permitted to roll their sleeves up really high. Always drenched in sweat and that stuff from the Rivers of America that they call "water." (The river is set on fire...

    Cheap Disneyland Tickets

:offtopic: I had a co-worker once who always said "mute point" when he meant moot point. He honestly didn't know the difference between mute and moot. The funny thing was, we were working in the mailroom of a law firm (my first job out of college.) Each time he said it, every attorney in ear...

    Nemo during fireworks

The line does not get noticeably shorter when the fireworks start. That is to say, they didn't last summer. Perhaps this summer will be different.

Funniest comments you've overheard in WDW

    1) Outside Disney Hollywood Studios boarding the boat to go to the Boardwalk one woman says to another woman while pointing at Tower of Terror "we should stay at that hotel next time." She was serious. 2) At Disneyland this past Saturday in the locker area on Main Street. One woman is trying...

Am I the only one that GAINS weight when walking 10k miles at WDW?

If you can carry on a normal conversation while walking, that is to say, you're not trying to catch your breath, then you're not exerting enough energy to truly burn off the extra calories you are eating.

Tell me one piece of advice you wish you HADN'T listened to...

Crocs. Wore them on day one of a 10 day trip and my feet were killing me. They rubbed my feet in places they'd never been rubbed before. I had worn them for several weeks prior to get used to them, but admittedly not for a whole day of walking. I wore running shoes the remainder of the trip and...

102 degrees in DL this Friday?

Whenever they predict rain, ignore it. It won't rain. And never trust a Southern California forecast that is more than 2 days out. They simply don't know how to predict weather here.

I hate the workers at Disneyland!

I worked at DL for a brief 3 month period, mostly working guest control during Fantasmic! I can tell you that for the most part CMs working that job are being as nice as possible. Unfortunately there are rules working guest control, no stopping in the walkways, no sitting on trash cans, no...

    Got Price is Right Tickets

You line up around 4:30 or 5:00 and stand outside CBS Televison City for several hours. You then go inside and wait for another few hours. You then leave for awhile, then come back and line up again for an hour or two where they interview each person in line. The best personalities from those...

    So Cal water...

I don't know why. But I just moved here a year ago from Ohio. I had to buy a water filter for home. I no longer drink unfiltered tap water unless it's my only option.

    Best Mexican Food?

I have eaten in all three. Did not care for Tortilla Joe's. Bland and uninteresting food and terrible service. Not what I would expect from a pricey restaurant in Downtown Disney. Or maybe I just have high expectations. Rancho Del Zocalo, love it. Not that it is the most authentic Mexican...

    weather ?

If it's in May, take a jacket and jeans (if you're planning on shorts.) No, the restaurants aren't as cold as WDW, but you'll freeze outside. At least I do.

i found DL to be alot busier than WDW

I've lived in California for only a year now, but I can tell you that while there is an "off-season" at DL, it's no where near as off as the off-season at WDW. It can still get pretty crowded thanks to the locals. That being said, there are some days I've been there where I could walk on...
