    HHI dolphins & horses

Thank you so much for the info. My 7 year old will be 8 when we're there (March birthday) but thank you for the heads up. Both the dolphin tours and riding sound terrific.

    HHI dolphins & horses

I have noticed references to horseback riding and dolphin cruises in recent Hilton Head threads. We are going in April and I'd love to know more about these two activities as well as any other suggestions you have of not to be missed activities. Our boys are 7 and 10 years old. Thanks in advance.

    Help! DC Sold Out

Thanks for your help and good wishes. I've been calling about four times a day hoping for a cancellation. Now I'll add the website to my routine!

    Help! DC Sold Out

I had hoped to do the Dolphin package at Discovery Cove (4 of us) the last week of October and they are completely sold out. I was shocked but decided to go to DC without the dolphin swim. That too is sold out. I've been calling every day since hoping for a cancellation. Is there any hope...

Hilton Head In April - 1st Time

I just booked HHI today for a trip in April. I was thrilled to get exactly what we wanted (2BR) within the 7 month window. Now for my questions: Should we request a certain view, or building or floor (or anything else regarding our room)? Are there any "must see" or "must do" things that...

    Timeshare options

I'm afraid I'm a bit like crisi in my love of Disney more than Florida. However, we have branched out a bit. I love SeaWorld and we had two fun days at Universal. The DVC properties are so nice and there is so much to do other than the parks that you can really have a relaxing vacation or...

In one day I talked to 2 people who have never...

My parents took me in 1975 and have never been back. We have invited them to join us every time we have gone with our kids. Since joining DVC, we have offered them their own studio or sharing one of the huge 2BRs at OKW. They have never come with us and probably never will. They think it's...

    Fairfield timeshare vs. DVC. Difference?????

3 cents per point for a Fairfield resale is a good frame of reference. Does anyone know if there is a similar rule of thumb for Marriott (i.e. $5000 for 1 week Prime season) or does it vary by the home resort?

    Fairfield timeshare vs. DVC. Difference?????

I will definitely join to get resale info because my first look at ebay didn't show anything close to $2000 for 154,000pts. I'll keep looking and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks again for all of your help.

    Fairfield timeshare vs. DVC. Difference?????

JLS - you may have talked me out of Marriott and into Fairfield. I like the point system, I understand it and I'm used to it. Also, it seems unneccessarily complicated (and expensive) to trade within Marriott which is what I would want to do most often. If I decide to buy a Fairfield...

How to get to HHI from NYC

Thank you for all of the advice. I fly everywhere and would never dream of such a long drive but it seems like I'm right that the air choices are limited and expensive. It is so easy to get to Florida from New York. Sometimes we take a 6am flight to get the cheaper fare but at least there is...

    Fairfield timeshare vs. DVC. Difference?????

This has been SO interesting. I've been considering a Marriott timeshare (we already have DVC). Any opinions about Marriott vs. Fairfield? It sounds like Fairfield would be a much less expensive resale than Marriott. I am under the impression that Marriott is closest to DVC in terms of the...

How to get to HHI from NYC

Okay experts, do you fly or drive? If you fly, is it into Hilton Head or Savannah? It doesn't seem like such an easy place to get to from here which is a shame because after all of the glowing reports on these boards, I really want to go! Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Marriott Vacation Club

Thanks for the responses so far. We have two kids ages 7 & 10 so we are pretty tied to school vacations for the next 10+ years. We live in New York and we enjoy everything from a beach vacation to skiing. DVC offers some great trades but I have never been successful in getting one. It's like...

    Marriott Vacation Club

Before we bought DVC, we checked out the competition - Marriott. DVC made more sense for us at the time and it has been wonderful. Like most DVC owners, I would do it all over again - but with more points! Honestly, we are able to make our points work for us. I am considering a Marriott...

    Future Disney Resorts (i.e. Beaches?)

Spiceycat - please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if you buy a Marriott resale you do not have as much flexibility in using your points as if you buy directly from Marriott. It is yet another nice thing about DVC - all members are equal no matter how they got in.
