What do you charge to your resort room??

I love charging to my room! It makes life so much easier and relaxing while vacationing at my favorite place! Especially if you lose your card, just go to the resort main desk & they cancel it/give you another. I usually have some cash, but not a lot, in case a cc machine doesn't work right or...

Am I crazy to even THINK about staying offsite????

Sounds like peace & quiet is premium for you. We have split our stay several times between WDW & offsite timeshare condos, including Vistana. We have always enjoyed the off-site as well as the on-site. A couple of things to consider: As other posters said, driving from Vistana vs driving...

Am I correct in this (re. free dining)?

If you have an AP you no longer have to purchase the 1 day pass, and you can add dining (not sure about free dining though). Just be sure to reserve it as a package initially (no passes, no dining), & then they can easily modify when discounts are released. If you reserve room only, they can...

    Current menu at Ohana?

We were there on 3/15, we loved it! Our favorites (as a group) were the turkey, shrimp, pot-stickers, and salad. We also loved the dessert, although it was so sweet we could eat only a small portion. All of the food was good except I thought the noodles were bland. Service was...

    Afraid of it being over

I actually woke up the other day tired and groggy, really bummed because I had just returned from WDW, barely remembered the trip (certainly not any magic), not feeling energized or rested or relaxed from getting away to my favorite place...then I realized it was all just a bad dream (literally...

What to do if a restaurant (Chef Mickey) is all filled?

Definitely keep calling, or see if you can switch your dates with another ADR. I had the same problem. When I called in January for Easter Week ADRs, I was a little worried but had no issues except Chef Mickey's was totally booked for dinner not only on the day I wanted to go (day 4 of our...

Switching from Room Only to Package

If they cancel my existing reservation, won't that reservation be available to rebook?

Switching from Room Only to Package

Thanks for the quick reply. That is of course not my preferred answer but the answer I suspected I would get. I am budgeting as always so I like to know exactly what to expect to pay.

Showing up for ADR short one person

Thanks very much for the quick replies, I have been stressing over this a bit since everything is so booked that week.

Showing up for ADR short one person

DD is going to be at the 6 month mark for her pregnancy. It is possible that she may not make every dinner I have booked. I set up the ADR's as if she will be there, but what happens if she decides to stay in the room while we eat? We are a party of 7 with her, 6 without her.

Switching from Room Only to Package

I reserved our stay room only. Now I would like to have it be a package, so I can add Dining. This was mostly a money issue, since I just booked a few weeks ago for 3/15 through 3/20, which put me inside the 45 day window sooner than I was prepared for. So when I call to switch, will I have...

6:00am - Am I crazy to get to MK gate in Easter crowds?

Actually I'm not sure, the advice to get there before rope drop is in a different section than the discussion on EMH. That's why I quizzed my best tour guide, DIS experts!

6:00am - Am I crazy to get to MK gate in Easter crowds?

Thanks so much for the detailed response mickeyluv'r, this is very helpful. It is reassuring to know that even missing opening by 15 min or so won't kill the plan. Our party is always an extended family group, although the exact composition varies somewhat. This time we have dgd2, her mom...

6:00am - Am I crazy to get to MK gate in Easter crowds?

Well, that's a little better I guess. We have never been "be there at the park opening" types, but I thought August was pretty crowded, so I plan to strongarm my family to get there as early as practical. Good thing they have coffee in the room!

6:00am - Am I crazy to get to MK gate in Easter crowds?

I've been to WDW several times, but never during a holiday. The UG advises arrival at MK 50 minutes before scheduled opening. So if scheduled opening is 8am, & EMH is at 7am, then that means 6am?! Will I be the only one there? Will I be waiting a whole hour to get in?

    Annual Passes and DDE

Warning - you can only purchase the DDE card M-F. I arrived on a Friday, didn't check on the card until Friday evening, & had to wait until Monday. At least this is what I was told when I presented my AP voucher at international gateway in Epcot & tried to buy DDE card at the same time.

    Fort Wilderness Cabins?!?! Reviews please

I think the golf carts run around 45$ a day, which is a little spendy for us. Cheaper to rent a car. The benefit, though, of the golf carts is: 1) you can park it at the marina & take the boat to WL or MK 2) you can park it at the main outpost & access WDW bus transportation directly...

Trying to teach myself good money management

Thanks all for the book & link recommendations. they are so helpful, there are so many different books & sites it is hard to prioritize. Also I really appreciated the input on how to prioritize debt payoff. It really helps to get different perspectives on things. I wouldn't call myself...

Will Florida school law change affect the end of August?

I can't believe this change in school calendars (both TX & FL, not sure about other states) WON'T affect park attendance. After all, I am in TX and WE are going 8/10 - 8/25. One of the side effects of moving back the school start date (2006 was 1st week of August for us) is a shorter fall...

Trying to teach myself good money management

I have been working on learning and implementing correct basic money management practices after many, many years of ignorance, bad management, decreasing income, and as a result pretty bad credit/no good credit. I am 45 with non-working (disabled) spouse, dd12 & ds17 at home, 3 others older out...
