    nickoloden hotel

We stayed there this past Thursday for just one night. We paid $79, plus resort fee and taxes. For that price, it's a great place to stay for a night or two, especially if you have younger kids. In the past, people have paid upwards of $300 per night, which is a complete ripoff IMO.

    Non-cheesy night shows/activities?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say La Nouba is "dark," but if it's in your budget, I'd highly recommend it. The kids will LOVE it and so will the adults. I was fortunate to see the show about three years ago from one of the control rooms. A friend of mine works there and was able to...

    Nickelodeon Hotel for older kids?

Thanks for the links, doclegler. I was planning to stay on a weekday in order to save $20, but I didn't realize that one of the pools/waterparks is closed during the week and most of the nighttime shows aren't done during the week. Now I'm considering a Thursday instead, since it's still the...

    Nickelodeon Hotel for older kids?

My three kids consist of DD 13.5 (very mature), DS 12.5 (average maturity), and DS 12.5 (somewhat immature). 2-3 years ago, the kids would beg me to take them to the Nick Hotel during our Disney trips, but it never worked out. I have the opportunity to take them there for a night now (2...

    Coral Reef & steaks

I've been to CR three times in the past 18 months. The most recent visit was less than a week ago. The portions have shrunk a LOT since the last time we were there, but the steak is still fairly large. You get a very small serving of potatoes now (but they are delicious) and the...

    Trading TS for CS option

You just ask to use a TS while you are purchasing the food. I don't know about most places, but one of the CS restaurants (I think it might have been Backlot Express) had a sign indicating that if you used a TS credit you also get a free lanyard and pin set or two extra snack items from the menu.

OUR EXPERRIENCE - DDP ressie for 4, but had 5 AND paying for 5 with only 4 on DDP

This is just crazy. I made a post because I was excited to share the news that the Disney CMs were more than willing to accommodate a last minute request for an extra person on reservations. I did not "cheat" anyone. We were entitled to 20 TS meals and that is all we ordered. Meal-sharing...

New to DDP and I have some ?'s

My plan has been to meal-share whenever possible and then use the "saved" credits for breakfast CSs. On some days we'd just do a box of Entenmann's donuts for breakfast. Keep in mind that meal-sharing doesn't have to leave your teenage boy starving. For example, at a place like Flame Tree...

    Food court beverages

Bottled drinks (sodas, Powerade, iced tea, etc.), milk, Nesquik, juices, etc. are all allowed under the DDP. If you are on the DDP, have a refillable mug, and plan to eat at the hotels, it's always best to get a bottled drink with the meal, but then drink from the refillable mug. If you do...

    sharing meals experiences.specific resturaunts

I can't comment on the specific meals you've asked about, but I've never had a single bad experience with meal-sharing at WDW. My most recent trip ended TODAY. We were on free DDP and meal-shared at Whispering Canyon Cafe, Coral Reef, and Sci-Fi. None of the servers seemed even slightly put...

OUR EXPERRIENCE - DDP ressie for 4, but had 5 AND paying for 5 with only 4 on DDP

Wow, this post got a lot longer than I expected it would, LOL We just got back from WDW (actually, WE'RE still in Florida visiting family, but WE'RE done with Disney). We had some DDP situations which all worked out ok for us, so I thought I'd share our experiences. I know other people have...

    *~*Pressed Pennies Tips and Facts*~*

I'm leaving for WDW tomorrow morning at about 2am. I decided to let my kids go hog wild on pressed pennies as souveniers this trip, rather than any other stuff. Last night my son and I sorted through the penny jar and pulled out about 150 of them from 1982 and prior (we stopped at 150, since...

    2008 DDP Changes-CHANGING EATING HABITS!

What's not to understand? We visit WDW during the free dining promotions...the meals are truly free now, because 18% gratuity is included. Next year they will likely offer the free dining package again; however, this time I'd be expected to pay for the tip OOP. These restaurants are VERY...

    2008 DDP Changes-CHANGING EATING HABITS!

Actually, this will just be our last trip to Disney. We've been there 3 times in the past 18 months (counting the trip next week), but the DDP has spoiled us. The kids and I will no longer enjoy WDW the same if we have to do it without the DDP, and even free DDP will cost too much for us going...

Reservations are for 4 - Now we are 5

I don't disagree with that, but if you read my first post, this isn't an instance where my reservations got messed up. I planned for four, then ended up with a last-minute fifth person. I was asking for advice on the best strategy to get my tables for 5 now.

    Cheapest Cereal Dispenser?

I got mine on sale at Amazon for $18.99 about a year ago, but they were MUCH nicer. They are doubles (two connected by a base) in black with silver knobs and bottom plate. Each one holds an entire box of cereal. I bought two so I could store 4 boxes of cereal at once. Despite them being...

Reservations are for 4 - Now we are 5

Thanks for all your stories. I think I'm going to just check in with a manager early in the day and hopefully get it worked out. I think that might work better than starting an argument claiming that I'd actually made reservations for 5 (although I could certainly make that *sound* real, since...

Can I get a turkey leg on the DDP?

Unless something has changed since the last time I was there (10/06), you can use a CS credit for it. You just don't have many options to go with it. All you get is a turkey leg, a drink, and a bag of chips. It's still not a bad deal if it's what he really wants.
