    Transfers/shuttles back & forth/ WDW resort > Port C > Airport

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/ Try this - may need to search around a bit on the site, but I know we did this in 2006. I does look like they have raised the price a bit since we went.

    Transfers/shuttles back & forth/ WDW resort > Port C > Airport

Airport to WDW hotels is a free shuttle - Magical Express I think its called. From WDW to ship and ship to airport, you can do lots of options - we like the DCL buses the best - cost is about $50 per person for round trip (or $200 for your group of 4). You can call DCL or book the DCL bus...

What would you do on Sunday if flight isnt until next day

It's open 9 to 5:30 every day - really good website - we were off the ship by 8 or 8:30, and were at the center by about 9:30 (after getting a rental car). http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/

    Nassau Glass Bottom Boat Ride???

We did this in Feb 2004 - we had a good time (better than wandering around town IMO). Only negative was the wall around the windows - had to lift by 5 yo up for him to see. We saw lots of fish of all kinds - I guess it just depends on the day and conditions?

What would you do on Sunday if flight isnt until next day

Kennedy Space Center is a great option - we did exactly what you mentioned last spring, and spent the day post embarkment at KSC, flew home the next morning - really cool, and a bit less expensive than WDW. We stayed in Cocoa Beach, but I would not recommend the hotel we stayed at -...

    lobster and MAGIC

Lobster also available in Palo - perhaps the best tail I have ever had (except maybe the one's I've had dockside in Maine).

How late do you let your toddler/preschooler's stay up on vacation?

Our kids have ranged from 8 months/ 3 years up to 7/10 years old. In general, our kids usually lasted an hour or so past normal bed times due to the excitement. The usually meant making it through most of the shows (after early seating for dinner), and falling asleep at some point in the...

    Good Family Veranda Rooms

For Category 4 - the forward cabins are the best (in my opinion) - cat 4 rooms are on the highest deck with cabins (deck 8), which is the deck below the pools. Therefore, the middle cabins can be a bit noisy late at night / early morning. We stayed in 8502 once - second cabin behind bridge -...

Buses to Port from Resort w/o package???

We've used DCL transportation without staying on the Land/sea package. Worked great - only "catch" is that they don't pick up at all the resorts, so you may have to get to a pickup point on your own - I think we spent about $10 on a cab to get us to the Dolphin. The transfers are not...

Key West for young kids who can read... lol

The Conch Train was good for us - 6 and 9 yo kids - went to the Southern most spot along with most of the main sections of the city - family friendly.

Grand Cayman Sub adventure... Good? not Good?

We did the Nautalis (sp?) which was really cool. Not a true sub., but rather a boat with an extra deep hull with big windows. You feel like you are in a sub, but did not have the risk of actually being under water. I don't recall the exact cost, but I'm sure it was not cheap - likely...

    cruising with grandparents

You will not regret this. We brought my parents and inlaws with us on our first cruise (along with 8 month old and 3 yo kids). My 80 yo FIL initially was not interested - had been in the Navy in WWII and said he had seen enough ocean to last a life time. He later changed his mind (with some...

Q about DCL Xmas cards from Shutters

Similar experience here - we ordered them the last night and they were ready at 7 AM the next morning (Shutters staff looked like they had not slept!). We ordered 100, and the total price was not significiantly different from what we had spent at Costco last year - about $60 or $70 I think.

Lower My Expectations - What's Not Great on the Magic?

WOW - funny, we always felt like we were being rushed a bit a dinner - we had early seating w/ 2 kids - 9 and 6 - I guess everyone has a different perspective!

    stateroom 8500

Deck 8 is the top stateroom deck - ship has 10 decks in all - decks 9 & 10 are outside (pools, etc.), so you are 2 decks from the top of the ship. In my opinion, you have the best room on the ship, short of a suite.

Cat 6 v. Cat 7 and toddler safety

2 Things: 1. I can barely get the door to the verandah open, so it would be really hard for a 2yo to do it. 2. The plexiglass covering on the railing makes the 2 type of verandah's about the same as far as safety (I think) - but either one could be scaled by an adventuresome kid using a...

    stateroom 8500

There is a link to stateroom info at the top of the page. 8500 is starboard side, forward (first room behind the bridge). We stayed next door in 8502 once - great location - quiet, virtually no foot traffic outside room and no overhead noise (unlike some of the mid ship rooms on deck 8 which...

    Cruise first or WDW first?

We've done both (we even did WDW a few days before and after a cruise once) - we prefer to have some buffer after the cruise - the transition back to the real world is too stark and depressing otherwise for us. Our first cruise, we flew home Sunday afternoon after disembarking the cruise, and...

What do your little boys wear on formal nights?

Our 6 yo wore a pants/vest/tie outfit we bought from Sears for about $20 (probably an Easter outfit as it was on sale in jan/Feb). Plenty dressy enough - mom and dad wore formal stuff.
