Can I send my luggage to my room via ME even if I don't ride the bus?

Edd, If the lady was going on a Disney Cruise, then she could have told Guest Services on board and they would have emailed me at the airport and I would have went to the airline, searched for the bag and if I found it have them expedite the bag to the first port of call (POC). I then notify...

Can I send my luggage to my room via ME even if I don't ride the bus?

Number one above is technically correct but a little misleading. Most of the big airlines (AA, DL, NW, CO, UA, US, WN, etc) do take the yellow tagged bags (YTB's) from the jet to a separate area on the ramp that is set up for that purpose. The Disney contractors (ASIG) then pickup the bags and...

Luggage from Hyatt to Port ?

That is correct, DCL will do a luggage only transfer. The cost is $24 for the first 4 bags and $6 per bag after that. Contact DCL for information about how to arrange it. Sluggo

    ME and Baggage claim checks

I can answer a few of the questions above. Almost all of the airlines do accept delayed baggage claims from the DME CM's. The only ones that may give them trouble are charters and AA. The charters are can be a problem because it is hard to find their representatives some times. AA is...

DME.... 3 hours to get baggage....??????

You should be able to still use the luggage service part of DME. After you take your luggage through custom, you then put your luggage back into the system it gets taken to the normal carousels. DME cast will still pick it up if it has the yellow tags. Sluggo

    Question about Airtran and ME

Recently, AirTran moved to the B terminal which the same as the DME Arrivals desk. It really doesn't matter anyway, as the A and B terminals are just different sides of the same building. You can easily walk from one to the other. Sluggo

Disney prepares to ramp up its popular airport-shuttle service

Yes, as I have said before, the DME CMs do go and check every bag in the airport that is not claimed (big job requiring lots of CMs). They check the name on the airline tag against a list of all DME guests that are scheduled to arrive that day. However, when they find a match, they do not...

Disney prepares to ramp up its popular airport-shuttle service

Edd, while it was supposed to be a hypothetical, it has happened. Just because no one has reported it first hand on this board doesn't mean that it never happened. I don't believe that everyone that goes to WDW is required to report on this board. The percentage of people that go to WDW and...

Why do some people blame Magical Express when their bags do not show up?

If a DME CM discovers that your bag is damaged by the airline they will take the bag back to airline and put a claim in for you. Quite often the airline will not take responsibility for damage to the bags. They do not cover damage to wheels, handles and overpacked bags. If this is the case...

Anyone use ME to transfer luggage while renting a car

There is a big difference between DCL transfers and DME. DCL charges for their transfers. Just because you are given blue tags does not mean that your bags are to be transported. If you purchase the transfers, you should put the tags on the bags prior to leaving and your bags will be...

Question about using Magical Epxpress vs. taxi?

Edd, When the airlines ask the DME CM's to check on a bag. They consult their manifest. If the name is one the manifest, they then contact the DME baggage office and ask them to verify that the guest is really a DME guest. They must do this because there are many times people have the...

Question about using Magical Epxpress vs. taxi?

Unless the DME tag falls off of your bag, then if you did not check in at the DME desk, you are at your resort without a bag. Sluggo

    Another DME question

Hi, The procedure when a bag is delayed by the airlines is: 1. Once the bag has not arrived at the resort or been scanned within 4 hours, the resort calls the DME baggage office at the airport and reports it. 2. The bag is then added to list of delayed bags and CM's at the airport...

    Airlines losing your luggage

This is great advice. Another reason to do this is if the bag is delayed and the airline grants compensation, most airlines pay $25 or $50 per day per ticketed passenger that has items in the delayed bag. In other words, if the bag has only one person's stuff, you would get only $25/$50 per...

    Airlines losing your luggage

This usually happens because of weight and balance problems more that physical room. When the plane is overweight or unbalanced, the airline employees just reach in and start taking bags out until the problem is solved. The bags are then sent on the next flight that can accomodate them...

    Magical Express...neither Magical, nor Express

I read this a couple of times lately so I checked it out with the appropriate people. DME does not stop delivering bags to the resorts. They are delivered all night. Since the CM stated that your bags had not even arrived yet, that means one of two things may have happened. 1. The...

    Lost Luggage and Magical Express

Edd, I can guarantee you that each truck does have GPS and can be tracked by both the CM's at the resort and the CM's at the Airport. I have done this many times. Sluggo PS. If you would like more proof send me a message and we can get together at the Airport.

ME: Has anyone used it for luggage transportation only??

Actually, they are given the airline's baggage office telephone number and are told that they must contact the airline and make any arrangments directly with the airline. Sluggo
