Have you taken your kids out of school for 2 weeks?

We took our grade 7 daughter and grade 5 son out for 2 weeks (less a day). The only extra homework our daughter's teacher gave her, was an assignment to take 12 different pictures of DW and write a small report on each of them. They had no problem catching up when they returned. My son wasn't...

Another death after riding Mission Space

I was very reluctant to try Mission Space after all the stories I heard. I hate "spinning" rides (I feel like vomiting after riding that spinning "teacups" ride at fairs). But I got brave when we were there, even after reading all of the warning signs going in. I have to say it wasn't nearly...

Is it just me? (re. disney planning dvd)

I think I liked the second DVD better. It seemed to me a little more "informative" on the attractions etc., and that's what I ordered them for (although I'd still like to see an even more informative DVD - one that shows prices, times etc.). Or maybe the first one just made me feel more guilty...

Is it just me? (re. disney planning dvd)

Thanks Rob, I found it. Boy that sure brings back some memories, since it was playing in our hotel room the entire time we were there. Now I just have to figure out how to burn it to DVD, so we can watch it on our TV. Here it is in case anyone else wants to see it again...

    Another Toronto airport/US customs question

Be prepared for some very long lines at security at the Orlando airport. We thought it was only fitting - can't leave Disney World without waiting in one more line.

Is it just me? (re. disney planning dvd)

Where did you find this? My kids would love it if they could watch the top 7 again (they watched it all the time when we were there).

    Pay for DTD?

The same goes with Disney Quest. The kids will love it.

Flying West Jet out of terminal 3

Going to Orlando, you clear US customs in Toronto. Nothing to do in Orlando, except claim your luggage. Coming back is a different story though.

Holiday Inn Sunspree, Lake Buena Vista input.

Yeah, we looked at the Nick suites, but they were quite a bit more money than the HI Sunspree. What dates were you there in February, maybe we saw you?

    Birth certs okay for kids?

You probably won't need them, but they would make things easier and quicker. We got them for our kids and ourselves (we flew from Thunder Bay, through Toronto) and were asked for them when got our boarding passes, at security, at customs and again when we were boarding the plane. I asked at...

Holiday Inn Sunspree, Lake Buena Vista input.

We also had a "Kidsuite", but since we had stayed at other Holiday Inn kidsuites before, we new what we were getting. I agree it is really only a "partition", but it was mainly the bunk-beds that we booked it for. Our 10 and 12 y/o kids just cannot sleep together and I new I wouldn't sleep...

Holiday Inn Sunspree, Lake Buena Vista input.

I stayed there in February and thought it was great. Kids do eat free, but there was no free continental breakfast when I was there. They do have a good breakfast buffet though, for about $10.00 per person. They also have a little convenience store (Pinky's) that sells bagels and donuts, etc.

    Can a proud mom brag?

Wow, that's just way cool (is that right? - trying to talk like the kids). You should be proud. She must be a very nice kid, to get picked to work there. I don't think we ran into one person in DW, that wasn't very friendly - even when they were taking crap from angry tourists. Way to go...

Disney World on City's BT this morning

There wasn't much after that. Some cooking in Morocco. What I want to know is, how can her friend afford to go down there 2 or 3 times a year. Value resort or not, that's a heck of a lot of money where I come from. We went for the first time ever in February and would love to go back, but...

    Please Help Me Pack!!!!!!!

To add to the above: -Some of those cheap disposable ponchos ($1.00 each) for the water rides - unless you don't mind getting wet. -Photocopies of your park tickets, if you already have them. -Address of your hotel (for customs)

    Roll Up To Win.

It looks like you copied and pasted the code for "HTML" instead of "bbCode". I'd post the correct URL, but I'm not allowed to yet. I sent you an email. Or you can just go back to the TickerFactory web site and re-do it, picking the bbCode. Fish

    Roll Up To Win.

I'm 0 for 4. If you're really feeling lucky you can bid on a "Tim Hortons Roll Up the Rim to Win Coffee Cup" on ebay today - current bid is $0.05. I'd post the URL, but apparently I'm not allowed to yet.

    west jet thru Toronto..

:rotfl2: We just got back from DW flying Westjet, connecting through Toronto and I know exactly what you mean. Once we were locked on the US side (on the way there), we each had a $9.00 sub, which was terrible, especially when you could see Tim's through the glass. My fingerprints are probably...

Holiday Inn Sunspree Lake Buena Vista??

I just got back from staying at this hotel (Feb. 14-22). I too had read mixed reviews and was a little worried before we went, but I have to say I was very happy with our stay there. Our kids are 10 and 12. We had a kidsuite facing the pool on the second floor. The room was clean. The...
