    Virgin flyer miles

Don't forget that if you use miles plus money you don't actually earn any Virgin points on that flight, so that is always worth factoring in. I have had mixed results with miles plus money, but managed a decent saving on our July flights, for a change. I think the best use of points is an...

At the door Disney Price Tickets for 7 days?

I bought tickets last year through Disney UK online and received a voucher there and then which I changed for a tickets at Guest Services in WDW.

    okw or yacht club

I can't get my head around the pricing of the above but if offered I would take a OKW 1 bedroom over a regular Yacht Club room if I had a family of 5. Definitely. If it were a choice of studio or Yacht Club room, the Yacht Club would win out every time. I agree that the pricing needs to be...

What do I do about buying an annual pass?

I never realised you could do this - could possibly have saved some money over the years as we always buy annual passes. I have never really got my head around the upgrade business but I guess it makes more sense to upgrade before use rather than at the end of the trip - don't they heavily...

July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Thank you for such excellent advice. I will definitely weigh up the pros / cons and cost of the train versus the hire car. I think Virgin trains release cheap London fares three months beforehand, so I might leave it until then. I hadn't thought about the one-way drop off hire car charge...

July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Hi there! I just stumbled across this thread. I never contemplated a Disney cruise (though I am a massive WDW fan) but found a great rate on a Cat 12 GTY and thought I'd give it a whirl. My parents, kids, and brother- in law plus family are coming too. Just wondering how other...

    which signature?

From your list, i'd choose Flying Fish for a special meal. My personal favourite signature restaurant is Narcoosees!

    Disney UK -ticket upgrade question

We are DVC owners and have annual passes, but I'm almost out of points, so am considering booking a free dining trip in August. I did free dining a few years back, but booked through US Disney and just bought one day tickets which I then offset against the cost of our APs. I believe that...

Block party Bash? anyone know what it is?

I'm not a parade lover myself, but I actually enjoyed this one. There is a lot of dancing and a bit of comedy but at the end, the float which we were near, threw out a load of rubber balls with 'Block Party Bash' on them. My six year old managed to grab one and was thrilled to bits. As with...

    Budget - frequent renter

Actually, I misled - it's 4 days I think. 1st May until 5th May collecting at 3pm and returning at 2.55pm. The rate is £57.44 (or dollar equivalent) booked on Budget.co.uk about a month ago. It was a miles better rate than I could get elsewhere.

    budget rent a car prices

I had the same query with the dollar/pound pricing at Budget and phoned them. They told me that whatever the dollar equivalent of the pound price quoted on the day you book is what you pay. So they simply do a pound to dollar conversion when you collect, if that makes sense. I'm travelling...

    Budget - frequent renter

Thanks again for the link on this. I am the OP and tried to register on my last trip, but left it too late. Budget were excellent, but the wait at the check in desk was awful. We waited for over an hour with about a dozen people in front of us. They were really slow at processing...

Pete and crew and Disers, tens of thousands of lurkers thank you!

I'm mostly a lurker too. I love the Podcast and have been listening avidly for a couple of years now. It truly brightens my week. Thanks for all you do.

    Margaritaville - parking question

Possibly, but we're on the Dining Plan and so have made ADRs for every evening of our stay. Plus the kids (or at least my five year old; my seventeen year old would be game) would prevent us from doing any serious clubbing / boozing. Hence the plan to go on way back to the airport as we...

    Margaritaville - parking question

Shame. I'm going to have a hard enough chance persuading the hubby to go anywhere near Margaritaville, much less if it's going to cost twelve quid (all right not quite twelve quid but it feels like it with the crappy exchange rate) to park the car. Still it's something I'd love to do, so...

    Margaritaville - parking question

I'm a big Jimmy Buffett fan and an even bigger cheeseburger fan so I'd love to try out Margaritaville. We have no plans to visit Universal as we are staying on site and doing the DDP but I'm thinking it might be an option for the last day before we head back to the airport. Does anyone know...

    another weather question....

If weather were the only consideration I would go in May. We've been in August and it was hot, humid, rained a lot and we had the tail end of a hurricane, but the crowds were low and we got free dining so it was a decent trade off.

    2 Weeks or 3???

Sounds fantastic! As someone whose work commitments only allow a week at at time I'd do anything for a two week stay, but a three week stay would be nirvana. You'll have a wonderful time.

    Route to take

It's a very easy drive down the 417. We tried the I4 route once and got stuck in really bad traffic. I'd definitely choose the toll road route.
