    Half price deposits/rebooking onboard

I placed a $1000. dep on an April 09 cruise (wanting to change when Jan 10 became available). I am not able to go until 2011 now & called reservations for a refund (which I got in full in August). But the DCL reservation agent told me good thing I DID get my money back now because starting...

    Half price deposits/rebooking onboard

BUT be VERY careful you can keep the dates you picked, IF you need to change they won't refund your deposit. In the past I have reserved onboard & when the dates I really wanted became available I switched, no problem. Not anymore, so be careful.

what have you taken from DCL?

Okay, Okay people calm down.....we all want to remember our Disney Cruises as long as possible....REMEMBER THE MAGIC is a saying in our house. So if taking "small tokens" home helps us junkies make it through UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.....so be it. Here goes my conscience clearing..... Raiding the...

    If I could Change One Thing On DCL . . . . .

On the "egg" subject.....forego the powdered scrambled, cold eggs & choose the made fresh & delivered to your table omelet station!!! THE highlight of my breakfast. Unfortunately only made it to breakfast twice this past cruise (we are late sleepers & the time change threw us) & my kids LOVE...

    If I could Change One Thing On DCL . . . . .

First a question....What is a Dole Whip & how did I miss that on my last cruise in January. Now for my added amenities..... --A REAL movie popcorn stand for Buena Vista Theatre, how can you expect me to sit & watch a movie eating that dry stuff you get from room service?? --A carnival...

Family friendly excursions in St. Thomas?

I would DEFINITELY do Blackbeards Castle. But do it on your own, instead of the DCL planned excursion. VERY easy to get to on top of the hill. You can see it from the dock. Then you also get to see the famous "99 steps". The boys will love it, even my jaded DS 14 loved it pirate:

    Disney Terminal: Cay Club

I totally agree, when we went in January, the CC line was longer than the regular line. No benefit there.....

Post your funniest story from a Disney Cruise!

We were on the 1/19 Eastern Cruise & Luke was there also. I LOVED HIM, he was our "guide" to bring us to the bus for our St.Maarten beach day & as he's walking, he hit his Goofy paddleboard a bit too hard & broke off BOTH ears!!! But he took it all in stride & said "I guess that's coming out of...

Post your funniest story from a Disney Cruise!

While I'm sure my story won't even compare to some of these, I'd feel left out if I didn't get in on the fun. On our 2006 cruise, we went on a beach excursion in Costa Maya. The "short, scenic 30 minute drive to the beach" entailed a crazy bus driver taking our lives in our hands on these very...

    Affordability....grrr

SOOOO MANY people say to me "why is the DC so much better than the other cruiselines to justify the $$$". I say it IS the Magic & memories that is so great for my kids. We've been cruising every other year since they were 4 & 7, and now they are 11 & 14. Every time they walk away with a...

    room service

It's still relatively small in the room service book. But they are more than happy to make substitutions & add things that aren't even on the menu. i.e, the Mickey ice cream bars, bowls of strawberries, etc. Believe me I don't think I was EVER truly hungry that whole week on the boat!!! They...

What Souvies are a MUST on the ship?

I brought an 11x14 plain white frame mat for an 8x10 photo, had it signed then put in my luggage, flat between my DCL beach towel I got. Came home perfect. Looks GREAT with my Fantasia Mickey w/ the white background photo.:wizard:

What Souvies are a MUST on the ship?

Of course some beautiful professional pictures in the portfolio frames (for us & grandparents), a Christmas ornament, a dated 4x6 photo album, a nice hoodie sweatshirt for ME, new beach towel but the one thing I love, love got it 2 cruises ago, my Captain Mickey antenna ball!!! I can spot my car...

The New NCL Gem, we tried it

Thank you so much for posting that review. I pre-booked this past January for our next Jan.'10 DCL cruise.....but wondering if going out of NY is a good trade off for not flying. When you travel in the winter, you take a risk. My kids BEGGING not to change cruise lines, both will be eligible for...

    Cruising in January a Mistake?

We always cruise in January, nice to escape winter for a week & the prices are better. NEVER had any issues but we always go on the 7 day & once you are out in the Caribeaan it gets rather warm. We were actually sweating on deck this past January (while watching the NFL playoffs on the big...

    Kids shoes in clubs?

Just remember to tell them to dry off after going to the pool. My DD & her friend got thrown out b/c their pool coverups were still wet from the pool. But I believe they might not have had ANY shoes on either. Guess they found out the limit to the "anything goes" on the MAGIC theory!!!

Anyone Ever Not Go Last Minute??

Ok, I'm over it now but believe me back in January when it was actually happening to us, I was DEVASTATED!!! Here's the story, one of my husbands' best friends died 2 days before our cruise (keep in mind we were also traveling with 2 other of his friends & families) and he decided to stay home...

    Tons-O-Fun!

I,too had lost alot of weight pre-cruise (45 lbs in all), I KNEW no matter how much I ate or drank (& believe me it was plenty), I would NEVER gain 45 lbs back.....all in all I gained 5lbs w/ a no holds barred eating fest. It's only ONE week & you paid plenty for it. Now where would the MAGIC be...
