    Kites, Hair, and Formal Night

Last week when people tried to fly their kites (made on the ship the day before at the family activity) on the beach at CC, the lifeguard asked them to go over to the soccer field (it's just past the end of the family beach, just before you get to the games pavillon). Not right on the beach but...

Thriller Power Boat -- St. Maarten ???

We were scheduled for that excursion for the March 18-25 cruise. The excursion was cancelled as the boat had been damaged recently and was out for repairs. We did not find out until we were already on the ship and wondering why our tickets for that excursion weren't waiting for us. By then it...

List of # of things on the boat

Okay, from last week, we were told they make 5,000 chocolate chip cookies every day. Also, they serve 10,000 meals a day. Also, there was some number about eggs. I think it was 50,000 but I can't remember if that was per day or per week or what.

    Wave Runners at Castaway Cay

Hopefully someone will answer this who has taken the tour. Last week, I remember watching the tv in our room onboard. On one channel they went through the excursions on CC over and over again. If I recall correctly, for the Personal Eco tour, they emphasized that this was a TOUR and not a...

Mad Hatter added aboard the character list on Disney Cruise

Mad Hatter was on the cruise last week (Magic, March 18-25). He appeared in the Atrium one evening after dinner (around 9:30 pm) - I think it was the 5th night - yes, definitely the 5th night because I remember we were in Lumiere's which opens into the Atrium and the Queen of Hearts came...

    Pirates of the Caribbean night

We cruised last week. Guess who is wearing my pirate bandana this week???? ...... My DOG!! She always wears a bandana so when I was unpacking, it just seemed natural to put it on her. Now she's a pirate. Seems only fair since she wasn't allowed to cruise and go to the party!

    hair braiding

My DD had it done on the ship last week. The braiding station is on Deck 9 right near the entrance to Quatermasters (the arcade). They opened to take appointments at 5 pm on sailing day which was right during the sailaway party (happening within feet of the appointment desk). I just headed...

    Traveling without both parents

My case is not exactly the same but has some similarities. I travelled with my daughter who is 11. I am still married but my hubbie did not come on the trip. My daughter and I also have different last names as I retained my maiden name legally. I did bring the notarized document saying he...

Camp Out on 7 night cruise

Dang, am trying to find my daughter's kids navigator from last week. She is 11. But I am pretty sure I don't recall any evening camp out for this age group. Although I remember reading about it before we cruised. If I find it, I'll post back again. My DD never went to any of the evening...

    Worried about smoke...

I am a FANATICAL non-smoker. On the ship I only ever smelt smoke once - on deck 4 when on the comfy loungers, some guy was smoking just down from me. Disgusting. Should mention that we never went to the adults only evening bars - suspect they might be smoky. I never go anywhere that there...

    'Tween getting nervous

We were on the Magic last week. My DD is 11. If you read go up to the section on trip reports and read my report (Eastern Magic March 18-25), I gave my report on my daughter's experience in the kid's program.... not great, not bad.

    Bathroom ?

I definitely remember seeing them in the bathroom on CC, but for the life of me, can't remember if I saw them in the public restrooms on board. I never use them, just take some tissue and wipe over the seat first. The restrooms on board were always incredibly clean and there was usually a staff...

weather for CC - not docking??

We were at CC last Friday. All week we had the most incredibly beautiful weather and the calmest seas you could possible imagine. Then overnight heading to CC we had scattered showers and the sea was moderate (as per the reports you see on the tv you see in the room). Next morning, heading...

    Which cruise first on B2B

I would recommend Western first. Supposedly the western itinerary is generally a smoother crossing than the Eastern. That way if you have rough seas on the Eastern part, you will already have your sea legs.

Why do US immigration officials come on board arriving ships-for nonUS citizens?

Theoretically you could, but once you are up, what's the point? I could not get back to sleep again, but that's just me. If you have early breakfast seating, you'll need to get going to breakfast soon anyway. Late breakfast seating is at 8:00 am (you are early if you have early dinner and...

What do you do after excursions?

Just home from the Eastern itinerary. I have a DD11. She is not interested in shopping! In St. Martin we went back to the ship for lunch and the afternoon. Enjoyed the pools/slide on Deck 9 with way less crowds. On sea days they are too crowded to even describe. You can walk to the shopping...

    Health precautions onboard

Just off the ship on March 25th. Was pleased to see some health precautions that are being taken to prevent spread of viruses. As you enter any restaurant, there are 2 servers who hand you a wet disinfectant wipe to clean your hands. Also, as you enter any buffet, a server will hand you a...

Barely Live from March 25-April 1 Magic! NEW TRIP REPORT ADDED

We were on the cruise last week. Also had the same thing with servers handing you everything as you get into the buffet lines, plus the wet wipes to wipe your hands before you go into any restaurant. Also thought this was a great idea.

St. Martin Thriller Boat excursion - warning

Just off the ship March 18-25. Our shore excursion for St. Martin was supposed to be the Thriller Boats. Cancelled. Boat hit something in the water recently and was damaged and is out for repairs. Not sure when it will be back in service. Call and find out if you are going on this excursion...

    How comfortable are the beds?

Just home. The queen bed (really too singles) was very comfortable. Firm yet soft if you know what I mean. I, however, got assigned to the sofa that turns into a bed. It was very firm. I could have wished for it to be a bit more padded on top. But if firm is what you need for a bad back...
