    Caring for Giants/Service Anaimals

I can see their issue and agree that they have to be very careful for all involved. A fully trained actual service dog should never behave the way they described. To me this is another problem of fake service dogs. They are not trained to behave like they should. There has to be a way to...

    Where to purchase a ramp.

Instead of a ramp, you might want to look into a battery operated lift that is inside the vehicle. I have folding ramps and they heavy on their own. I got mine from Discountramps.com. They are also quite long.

    Question about manual wheelchair use..

I tend to use gloves in Disney. I use them for those times that you have to hold yourself on a downhill slope or to slow yourself fast. I would get burns on my hands from the rims when I tried to slow myself sometimes and the gloves alleviated that problem. I also like the leather and padding...

Fake service dogs a real problems

A service dog doesn't always mean a big dog. It could be a little dog too, because of what it is trained to do for the person does not require it to be big. This could be one that detects things like seizures, diabetic dogs, even some PTSD dogs can be small. My service dog is a Miniature...

non severe CP at the parks

What about renting a child size wheelchair for him instead of a stroller? It would give him a place to rest when needed and would be his size, not one built for adults. I know that there are a few places out there that rents child size wheelchairs.

Best ECV rental when using a rental car

I would go with a Pride Go-Go Traveler Elite Plus scooter as long as he is under 275lbs. It breaks down into 4 pieces easily and can be put in cars the size of a Ford Fusion easily. This is my personal scooter! You can also charge the batteries off the scooter like you would like to do...

    Back Issues - Spinal Injections

I get steroid injections in my back at the S1/L5 level. I have some soreness for a day, but nothing real bad. Just kind of achy. It usually takes about 3-5 days for it to take effect. I wouldn't bring anything for her like pillows or such unless she is using them at home and it helps. It...

Allergy Friendly Restaurants in WDW DTD?

I have a shellfish allergy and have never had an issue at any restaurant at Disney. I have eaten at Fulton's, T-Rex, Raglan Road, Rainforest Cafe, and Earl of Sandwich. I have also eaten at Wolfgang Puck. Most of the time the chef would come out and speak to me before I was allowed to order.

    Apple Scooters

I have also used them on multiple occasions with nothing but great results. They even tried to help me out by getting me a new battery even though I was not a customer of theirs and it was my personal scooter. When they could not help me they pointed me in the right direction of where to get...

I would think that a DAS would be useful for you.

    Magical express with an ECV

I have brought mine several times and used the DME. I just drive my scooter to the bus and then the scooter is put down into the luggage bins. Just remember to take the key with you. I had one of mine accidentally break off in the scooter. I have never let them know that I will be bringing...

    Need advice

This was definitely steeper that the regulations allow. I can wheel myself up ramps within the regulations just fine, but this one after I started up, I realized was out of the question.

    Need advice

Yes the boat was still tied to the dock. The captain was waiting there to see if anyone was going to ride back to DTD. He was the only crew on the boat. We did not holler out for help. It has been until this trip, that they captains are supposed to escort us across the docks both ways to...

    Need advice

We got back from Disney World last week and had a good time other than a couple of incidences involving the boats at OKW that go to DTD, and I am not sure how to handle it. I guess actually in retrospect, I should have addressed it there, but I still think that it is something that needs to be...

    How DAS helped me

I didn't get a return time card at Jungle Cruise, but only because I had a fast pass for the ride when I was there last week. That was the only ride that I went on that they offered it to me.

    Service dog experiences

I am assuming that most of you have big dogs for a service dog. Does anyone here have a small service dog and if so what, if anything do you do differently when in the parks and such. I am new to having a service dog, but mine is a small Miniature Poodle ( which is fine for my needs), and have...

Sleigh ride at what resort? Will they include a SDog?

We were at Fort Wilderness just a few days ago and I know they do carriage rides there. We saw one of them while eating at Trails End.

Do I need a DAS for crutches?

I use forearm crutches from time to time. I have used them at Disney. On most rides they just went into the vehicle with me. If it wasn't safe for me to keep them with me on the ride, then the CM would take them for me and hold them until I was getting off the ride.

    Scooter Question

Most of the times you should be able to ride together. The exception would be if someone else was already on the bus. Most buses can hold 2 scooters and some are able to hold 3-4 chairs or scooters.

Will Be In Disney World On Wednesday!!! So excited!!

We will be shortly behind you and are staying at Key West too. I am hoping to bring my wheelchair instead of my scooter. If you see someone in a blue, custom Ultralight Tilite chair or a red with scooter, and the rider has braces on from hip to toe, please say "Hi". Have a good trip!
