    Disneyland and Universal Hollywood?

We're planning a California Trip that includes San Diego (staying at a separate hotel for that), Disneyland (3 days) and 1 day at Universal. We're wondering if we should stay at a separate hotel at Universal (there seem to be a couple of nice but expensive ones right nearby and then crummy ones...

    Disneyland at Christmas?

We're deciding this week if we're going to try to do Disneyland in December and we realize that there isn't a hard ticket party (like WDW'S MVMCP) but that there are fun celebrations throughout the season. How often do they have fireworks and fun Christmasy activities or special events...

    Stroller Help!!!

Thanks for the reminder - I was planning to check Craigslist today - I did and nothing but I'll keep an eye on it. I should check out the consignment shops around too. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ~Christy

    Stroller Help!!!

Hi! I'm looking for a stroller for my almost 5 year old at Disney. I saw that it'll be about $75 to rent one for the week :scared1: so I figured why not buy an inexpensive one that we can use for him and also for DD as she gets bigger. We have a Jeep umbrella for DD but it's a bit small and...

Anyone still take stroller for a 5 year old?

Deleting post - don't want to hijack OP's thread so I'll start a new one. Have a nice day! :)

Anyone still take stroller for a 5 year old?

Thanks so much! I just checked out United's website and carseats and strollers are still free so that's a relief. I think we'll bring one for DS then. The double is a bit of a pain to get around with (on and off buses or other transports) so I think we'll do 2 umbrella strollers. ~Christy

Anyone still take stroller for a 5 year old?

We've been debating this too. We're bringing our kids two months before our son turns 5. We're starting to wonder if we'll have to pay to bring strollers on the plane. If so would it be better to rent one (I have to check out the prices of that still)? We haven't completely figured this out...

Need advice from parents of picky eaters!

Wow! I really hoped that my DS would improve with age but maybe not. DS and DD are complete opposites. DS was a terrible eater from birth and continues to be picky and wants to survive yogurt and cereal. I do make him eat what we're having but I give him small amounts - I understand that by...

What's your schedule like when you are at Disney for a week??

Last time we were there with a million people but the one thing I stuck to was that my son needed a nap each day. We stayed on Disney property so that this was easier to do. As for park hopping, we'd decide where we were going to be each morning and each evening (ahead of time) so that the sit...

First trip for kids...11 months or 16 months?

Good luck! We're going in October too - hope it's great weather!!! ~Christy

First trip for kids...11 months or 16 months?

Hmmm, I would think that 11 months would probably be better (people may think I'm crazy). My reasoning is that at both ages the children won't really remember other than what they see in pictures, at both they will be amazed at looking around but at 11 months they'll probably be more content to...

    young children running off

I like the backpack harness idea. He can keep "his" things in the backpack that he might need/want throughout the day (a special toy or blanket, a snack) but you get to hold onto him (I believe there is a buckle in front - make sure he can't undo it easily - if he can use some twine to tightly...

    100 Disney items to collect

There are some great ideas out there. I love the 100 pictures idea too - as long as you have a digital camera. You could print them when you get home (small so it's more feasible) and she could help create a scrapbook or collage to bring in and show her class. Good luck! ~Christy

    Savings Account question

Our emergency fund is in a regular savings account. We also have a Roth IRA and 401 K that we have no intent on spending until we're in our 60's. We're fortunate that with our bank (USAA) we get a really high interest rate as far as savings accounts go (slightly higher than ING). I've heard...

    The best hotel

I love all the Disney Resorts I've stayed in. For our honeymoon we were able to spend some time in the Grand Floridian - oh my goodness!!! If you're going without kids that would probably be my first suggestion. On the monorail, relaxing, luxurious - all in 1! Unless you're looking for more...

Grey's Anatomy - Might be spoiler

The show ended with him still in surgery and Bailey threatening to go home and hold the baby in until tomorrow. Can't wait to find out what happens. Maybe I'll watch it at Disney. Don't know if I can wait, plus we have to be in the room early anyway b/c my son will have to go to sleep. We'll...

Famous People You have met While at WDW

Haven't ever noticed anyone at Disney - except of course Mickey and the gang! But I believe we'll be there at the same time as the Steelers this year!

How long do you expect to wait for a bus?

I didn't used to care too much (20 minutes or so wasn't bad) but I'm nervous about this trip - we're bringing our 2 year old for the first time and I'm sure those bus stop waits will seem much longer!

How much do you gain in WDW?

I usually break even or gain about a lb. I walk so much there that despite the extra food (and I eat a lot of extra food) I don't gain a lot. Good luck!

Where outside the U.S. Have You been?

Canada (Toronto, Niagra Falls) Mexico France (Paris, Angers, Chalon Sur Soane) Germany Austria Switzerland Luxemburg Lichtenstein Iceland (mostly the airport though - LONG delays both ways so did spend a bit of time there) Hope to do more traveling outside the country once our...
