DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I just sent an email to the disability email address hoping to get an answer from a person and not an automated response. My trip is next week, May 18 to 21. I am having a very bad flare up of my symptoms and am nervous that I need to reschedule. And I would want to do so for the beginning of...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I just did my video chat for my arrival on May 18th. I was on right at 7 and chatted with someone at 7:20 and am waiting now to do my pre selections. The video chat was very rushed with being told "still doing things the old way", so I was ok'd right away and it took less than a minute.

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I understand the need for the change, I just didn't expect to feel so strongly about it and so stressed. I know me and my limitations and this service was helpful for me. I hope I can convey that well enough to be offered some assistance.

I just feel blindsided by this change and it's really stressing me out. I wish the best to you and your DD!

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I feel this! I am taking DD (14) next month, overlapping the change. I do my chat tomorrow and am so nervous about it. DD has Type 1 Diabetes but I have never gotten her the DAS pass for that as my condition always allowed for the pass, which has benefitted both of us as she has had some...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I have an annual pass and I have a DAS pass as well. I go 2 or 3 times a year, but have noticed that the Lightning Lane can sometimes be very long and for my condition, and the reason I use the DAS pass, sometimes I even have to forgo that line, even within the window it gives me. I don't like...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I just thought this same thing. The past several times I have gotten it, they have said not to talk about any diagnosis things, but the reason for needing the pass and that nothing goes on record. And I wonder if it actually is and like you said, they will check now to see if you are saying...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I just had to call the main Disney number to ask about a ticket question, but asked if she had already been asked a million DAS questions and she said yes. I asked what happens when dates overlap as our trip starts the 18th and goes through the 20th and she said no changes will affect us since...

    180 days?

ok weird. I was looking at my plans in my disney experience, and noticed that under dining reservations it says "reservations accepted through October 9th, 2024". So I checked and that is 180 days from today. Out of curiousity, I went to see what was available, and it only shows me 60 days...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I'm feeling so overwhelmed by all of this right now. I have a condition that is not very well known and having to explain it can be difficult for me. I have been fortunate to qualify for the DAS pass which has encouraged me to travel on my own and even get the annual pass. I have been very...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I wrote to them about a year ago with a question and am still waiting for a reply 😏 I ended up finding my answer when I went to the parks shortly after and went to guest services. I'm taking DD in May and our trip starts the 18th and goes through the 20th. I'm curious what we will notice...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

seriously. DD is a type 1 diabetic. it's a tricky thing, with excitement adding to highs and lows. we have to be ready for anything and being stuck in a line for a prolonged period of time can be a bit stressful. Especially in queues that are more enclosed, like Rise.

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

Just yesterday I read an article about this change and in it, mentions someone overhearing a parent bragging that they said their child had autism and now they don't have to wait in lines. This is infuriating to me, but how do you prove it, and now with this being the only diagnosis they...

What was your favorite book series growing up in the 80's-90's?

The Babysitters Club was my absolute favorite. I still have all 131 books and 15 super specials! But I loved a series called The Gymnasts and also one called Pen Pals about girls in a boarding school! Not gonna lie, I'm well into my 40's but will still pull out a BSC super special from...

WDW Summary of NEW DAS changes and Disney Genie - Post ONE is an updated summary

We arrive on May 18th. Seeing as the change starts the 20th I would think that we will still be ok'd for the DAS pass for DD that needs it. After the 20th from what I'm reading, we will not be able to get it again. This whole thing is very sad and a bit stressful as we have gotten used to...

Is Ohana really that bad now?

My friend and I were so excited to do Ohana for dinner because we love the breakfast there so much but it was one of our least favorite meals. The chicken tasted like burnt tires. Not a fan at all. I love the atmosphere of the Polynesian so much, so will definitely do the breakfast there...
