    Carnival Cruise

I'm also contemplating a Carnival Cruise. Never been on Carnival but have cruised on Celebrity and RCCL before. If you haven't found the boards on cruise critic yet, I highly recommend them. I have gotten tons of info there over the years. www.cruisecritic.com Lisa

    Tennessee families...

I'm in North Alabama, about an hour from the Tenn-Ala state line. We love Nashville!!! If you've never been, it's a great country music experience. Most of our "out of town" family members love going. Our favorite restaurant is DEMOS. There is also a Jack Daniels Distillery south of...

    Introverted Mom with EXTROVERTED child

I'm a talker...I talk to EVERYONE. Strangers are not excluded! :hyper2: My children, however, are shy and very reserved. It is the most frustrating thing for me. I can't believe they don't tell their teacher when they need something, or they don't tell someone to leave them alone when they...

    Vacation Homes - need recommendations

We are renting this house next month. While it's probably bigger than you need, I wanted to tell you that I got it through posting on the Windsor Hills website. They also have condos and town houses. This is being rented through an individual but he uses a managment company to do everything...

    Question about legalities

I'm new to this thread and I'm in love with the dis-signs. What I'm concerned about it doing something that infringes on Disney's copyright. Anyone had any trouble wearing these shirts? Any comments from anyone at Disney? Do they not care because you aren't selling them? Just wondering. I...

    Vent: Bullying and Schools!!

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult? It is about a boy who goes in and shoots up a high school because he was bullied all his life. Their defense was that his state of mind was much like battered woman syndrome and that they suffer from post traumatic stress. I won't tell you what happens but...

    Anyone ever ....

I find myself saying "Did they just ask that????" a lot on these message boards. :confused3 Um...no, I don't think it would be ok to take food from the buffet. It's all you can eat THEN...not for the next 24 hrs. Sorry.

    Vent: Bullying and Schools!!

I'm a teacher (who now stays at home) and I detest bullying! Last year, I had a child in my class who looked as cute as could be but he acted like a horse's rear to his classmates. He teased, threatened, hit, and took things away from them. When confronted, he smiled a huge stupid grin and...

    Read this and get mad!!!

JDD said: wow - hot topic! I could write an article about why our family doesn't enjoy a beach vacation, but I'm sure I'd get ripped apart by all the people who love beach vacations. Disney isn't for everyone - we LOVE it! Same here! WE love to camp/RV. We have traveled quite a bit with...

    Read this and get mad!!!

I haven't read all the posts on this one but here's my take on this guy... 1. He probably did have a huge grin on his face the whole the time he was here :) but he won't admit he loved it because then he wouldn't be able to come back and be his probably crabby, cynical old self. :headache...

In My 40Plus years of Visititng Disney theme parks, this is a First

I've never been stuck on a ride in WDW but I did get stuck on the Mindbender in Six Flags over GA once. I hated that ride anyway (not a rollercoaster girl but got talked into it). It was in the middle of a lightening storm. They left us sitting out in the middle of it for several minutes. I...

    Broken LL Bean Backpack zipper!

Take it to an alteration/repair shop. I took a brand new purse (bought it out of town at a small shop so no way to return it) that the handle broke on. The little lady in the shop was able to fix it up like new and it only cost me $5. Lisa

    Flip Flops at WDW?

I just got orthotic inserts for my sneakers. I have a Morton's Neuroma and my choices were surgery or orthotics. My dr. suggested two things for my disney trip...Brooks sneakers with my inserts and a pair of comfortable flip flops or sandals. His favorite pic for sandals are Montrails and...

Totally OT - but don't know where else to turn

My DH#1 (damn husband #1) developed a "friendship" in the office. I trusted him completely and didn't worry about it at all. I knew he took her to lunch sometimes but then again, he went to lunch with guy friends too. I didn't think much about it. She and her husband even invited us over for...

14 people going to disney in JULY! *updated 8/7*

I just want to say that I'm sorry that someone else would ever treat a fellow Dis'r (or anyone!) the way you were treated. That kind of ignorance is disgraceful!!! Leave it behind and have a WONDERFUL trip in March! :woohoo: Lisaland

Any special tips for a DH who doesn't like WDW

My husband wasn't very excited about our first WDW trip. He didn't want to talk about it at all. I called him Grumpy. I even bought him a Grumpy hat. On the other hand, I was reading DIS, TGM, and taping the travel channel like a crazy person. All I wanted to do was talk about it! It...

Does anyone here NOT like Whispering Canyon Cafe?

When we went, we were probably one of the last tables seated for the evening. Our server/servers ignored the kids and didn't do any of the fun pranks that we had heard they do. We watched other servers play around with their tables but our server must have been a dud. :( Food was marginal...
