I feel your pain! I just looked at Wilderness Lodge for the first week in November 2018 and it is over $40.00 more per night per room than what we are paying this year - we have 3 rooms so at $411.00 per night (keeping in mind that is before the additional 12% is added) it is cost prohibitive...

We have stayed at both numerous times when just the two of us go to WDW. POR is our favorite of the two - there are 5 small pools that are very quiet in addition to the large pool..food court is good plus there is a nice lounge where you can enjoy drinks (plus Yehaa Bob) and the resort's...

Geyser Point is terrific and seating is all outside...Contempo has a varied menu and the food is good...Gasparilla Grill at Grand Floridian is good as well (especially the sandwiches and salad that you order on the right hand side of the restaurant) - you can sit outside with a view of the castle:)
