Calling all northerners who have gone to WDW in December

We're from NH too and were in WDW at the end of Dec.this past year. We felt that since we were in Fl we would wear shorts. It wasn't cold for us. We're used to it! We had polar fleece jackets and long pants for night. Now my sisters who are Floridians were cold and would never think of...

    Rides that should be retired....

I vote Stitch off. But I like the Mexico and Small World rides because they are calm rides and cool when it's hot out, plus I'm getting too old for the Space Mtn. type rides.

    WHAT resortAND WHY?

We are DVC members so we like to stay at Old Key West because it's very roomy and has a full kitchen and laundry eventhough our home resort is Saratoga Springs. Before we were members, we enjoyed the Carribean Beach Resort for the atmosphere and room size. If you can afford it, go for a deluxe...

    Segway scooters at EPCOT

 I just read about a one hour session with a Segway at EPCOT. Has anyone tried this and what did you think?

    MY Stitch's great escape experience...

Our group couldn't believe how bad it was. We were glad we went when the wait was only about 15 minutes. It was short and there wasn't anything to it.

    MGM or Animal Kingdom

This is when park hoppers are great. We went to AK to hit the safari, Bug's Life and the dinosaur ride then went to MGM for a couple of rides. Unfortunately, since it was Christmas vacation the lines were so bad we actually left the park without doing anything.

    Wrist Band

Don't forget to bring your hotel room card for each member of your party even the little kids or they won't get the wristband. We were surprised they wouldn't assume our children were with us.

    Getting Bored With Disney???

We're DVC members too for two years now. Our kids are teenagers and not real big on Disney so we already have a summer trade with Breckenridge, CO. Try trading, that's the beauty of DVC.

    Spinoff the Fanny Pack thread

It sounds like most of that would fit into your pockets. A big advantage of not having a fanny pack is that you walk right through security and don't have to wait on line.

    Enough Already!!

I love planning for trips, that seems to be part of the fun for me. Maybe I'm an obsessive compulsive vacation planner like I read on someone's message. I'm working on Feb. 2007 now. WDW is waiting for us in Dec. and April. Can't wait! I keep lots of lists especially next to the bed so I...

    Birth certificate help!!

Try bringing your copy to a post office that issues passports. They should be able to tell if what you have is acceptable since that's what they need to issue passports.

Dressing children in matching clothes at the parks

Go for bright red! A red t-shirt from Wal-Mart and even a red hat! Most people, kids and adults seem to be in white with some designs. Opt for a solid color. I made sure my kids were in red whenever we out in a crowd. The color really stands out. I even encouraged my husband to wear...

now I remember why I bought DVC...

I know that DVC members can book at the moderate and up resorts with points. Are you saying members can get discounts on resorts if we pay cash?

    December tips...

We're heading to WDW for two days too and didn't even think of checking out all the resorts for decorations! And that's why we're going at that time of year! Thanks for the idea. We are going to try to do all four parks in one day since there's an early opening and late closing. Our kids are...

    My Timeshare Better Than DVC?

We bought 300 DVC points so we could get a two bedroom during the school vacation periods. We love the flexibility. We are going down for two nights in Dec. to a one bedroom at OKW, two nights again at OKW in April and then traded a week in Colorado in June (which was less than 200 pts.). We...

visiting atlantis during your cruise Need info please

I'm not familiar with the day rate at Atlantis but I heard of someone going to the Comfort Suites that's across the street from Atlantis. It was cheaper than Atlantis and you can use the facilities at Atlantis.

    Which level (floor)is best?

We are planning our first cruise in Feb. 2007 and would love help diciding which floor and section of the ship would be best. Also, I will be traveling with my DH, and 18 yo DD and 16 yo DS. Since we're using points we were thinking of a cat 10 since everyone says you are never in the room...

    cruise stateroom question

We're planning our first three day cruise in Feb '07 using our DVC points. I'm wondering if an inside stateroom will be ok for us and our two teenagers since everyone says you're never in your room anyway. Also, where are some good staterooms ie. mid ship, back, front, which deck? Any info...
