    Anyone been on NCL's Epic?

Yes, that was the week. Got great pics of the Disney ships in port. It was my friends first cruise and she was nervous about sea sickness. Funny thing, as windy as it was, barely felt the Epic rock at all. Definitely feel the motion on the smaller ships, Magic and Wonder, compared to others...

    Anyone been on NCL's Epic?

I did the Epic this past March. In fairness, it was only my friend and I so I wasn't paying much attention to kids stuff. Personally, it was my least favorite cruise. It was a 4 day cruise out of Port Canaveral. First time on NCL. I have done Disney(gold status), Princess x3, Celebrity (second...

    Alaska. Disney vs Celebrity

We did Celebrity Alaska a couple of years ago with extended family. As two adults, I wouldn't hesitate doing Celebrity or Princess. Even with kids, the other lines are still a great choice especially for Alaska.

non DCL Alaska with older kids/teens-please post experience

We've done HAL but to the Caribbean. Very few kids and that was during Thanksgiving break. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for Alaska, with kids. Older cruisers for sure on HAL. We did a Celebrity cruise a couple of years ago to Alaska. Good mixture of ages. You will never have as many kids...

    Linking Cabins/Making Ressies

We've been able to make reservations as CC members for people linked to us on their first cruise on our past two cruises. On the last cruise, we needed a reservation for 6 people but it wouldn't allow me to do that online. I just went to the table on embarkation day and they changed it for me...

    The Elusive Chocolate Buffet

I agree, it is elusive! We've never made it to any of the chocolate buffets although they've had them on each of our cruises. I vaguely remember our servers mentioning it to us on our first cruise but it went in one ear and out the other (too full at dinner to even think of more food!). On our...

Asked 100 times, but is it really worth it?

We decided to try HAL this past November after 3 Disney cruises. We previously did a Princess to Alaska (just dh and I and another couple about 8 years ago). We wanted to try another cruise line after Disney mainly for price and for just a different cruise experience. HAL had awesome food, ports...

Turtle Cove Sail +/- Honeymoon Beach?

Not sure exactly what the difference is in the excursions you are considering but I can tell you about Honeymoon Beach. We were on a different cruiseline this past Thanksgiving and went to Honeymoon Beach on our own. We were there when the excursions came in on the boats. On a previous Disney...

    DCL or Princess to Alaska

Wasn't going to chime in as my opinion was same as couple of others above who sailed other lines but your post aswered my question... just the two of you. I'd then do a non-Disney to ALASKA for the reasons stated above. We did Princess, one way about 8 years ago. We went with another couple so...

    Webcam I've never seen...

I'm not sure if this is new or just new to me. I saw it on another cruise board. portfever dot com Really great views of the ships in port and as they leave. New York, Port Canaveral, and Port Everglades.

What is a Christmas Cruise like? Is it worth it?

Sailed Thanksgiving Magic 2008, Christmas Magic 2009, and Christmas Magic 2010 (11 nights Southern). Semi-formal and formal nights don't necessarily change just because it's Christmas Eve or Christmas. They fall pretty much as they would if it was a non-holiday cruise. In 2009, Christmas was our...

If you can change it now, I'd change it. If not, then try changing it when you board.

Beach towels, Palo tipping and new check in time ?

Don't need to bring your own towels for Castaway nor the ports. If you do an excursion thru Disney, they'll have the towels for you at the meeting area for your excursion. If you do one on your own, you can grab towels by the pool or at one of these excursion meeting spots. Tipping for...

Just off the Dream: Deck Chair HOGS

I completely agree with you as far as the pool is concerned but not so much at Castaway. At Castaway, I feel you do plant your group at a spot and at times, you all may not be at the chairs but don't think it's right for someone to take your spot. Castaway tends to be a place you do go back and...
