What gets me most is the hypocrites on this board

Many people including myself are not happy with this FP + mess. I have been going to WDW almost annually for 30 years or so. Most of those trips have been in the "slower" seasons and I have never once did a rope drop or have I planned what my schedule was for the day. We have always been able to do basically everything we wanted to do, we worked around the crowd and used our FP when they came into effect.

This FP + system is a joke. I don't want to plan on when I'm going to eat and when I'm going to ride this ride or that 3/4/5/6 months out. That's utterly ridiculous. Now you can't even go to the Park and get a FP because they are all gone early in the day because most are taken up by these people getting them in advance. And forget about getting in a stand by line now for the big attractions. And a good part of this is not only because of the crap FP + system but from the people on this board that are scamming the system and double and triple dipping with all these FP's. People complain about the crowds on this board but then they're quick to point out how they got triple the FPs they should have because they used their Magic Band, Their KTTK card and their old room key. Ridiculous.

I agree with Disney charging people who don't show up for Dining Reservations, in fact they should charge them the price of the minimum meal X number of guests the reservation is for. If they catch you in the system with more FPs than the permitted amount, you should have your FP privileges revoked for your entire length of admission.

Amen.
Before you get blasted by the Disney Apologist Union that is greatly represented here on these forums, let me say that I completely agree with you.
How many posts will it take before someone says, "Well, just don't go"?

MouseMomx2 10-21-2013 11:59 AM

I think you just need to take a deep breath and wait and see what the system is like once it is fully rolled out. It is pointless, IMO, to get all worked up about this now.

Personally, I am a big fan of the new system. Different strokes and all.

This is, IMO, the biggest issue with the current situation. If everyone was playing by the rules things would be much better.

But that is your only recourse, isn't it? The system is what it is. If you don't like it and aren't willing to adapt to it then your only option is not to go. I suppose you could still go and be miserable the entire time, but why bother?

LSUfan4444 10-21-2013 12:04 PM

The ability to double or triple dip is the biggest factor in how they are getting people to agree to being part of the test. If they only allowed 3 FP+ for testers, hardly anybody would sign up.

Now, that being said what it currently being tested is not what the system will really be. This is a fantasy MB system and alot of people love it, unfortunately for them, when it is fully implemented, it will be quite different.

If you don't want to get to the parks early and don't want to schedule your FP+s well in advance, yes, you are going to hate this new system.

Personally, for the times of year we go and how we tour when we are there, I think it will benefit us a good bit.

ShayBells 10-21-2013 12:05 PM

I think we all don't really understand it am once it's all rolled out and the old FP is gone it'll be better. And I bet it won't have anything to do with getting it months out. I mean ppl have said you can do it on a kiosk there. There will be a limit and then it will be fair for everyone. I just went w/I using FP+ and I had no problems. I didn't wen use the old FP system much. Wait times were too low to use them. You can't count on 10 peoples experiences out of 1,000s. And people are more ept to complain than get on here and say good things. Don't worry it will be fine.

No offense, but I cannot wait till is gets fully rolled out because my trip is before they fully rolled it out and I cannot change my plans now. So when I pay a lot of money for something I will get peeved. I will probably not be able to afford to go to disney for another 5 years...

Seeker615 10-21-2013 12:07 PM

I don't understand why they changed the system to fast pass plus. I loved the regular fast pass system. It worked great when we went a couple of years ago.

I also don't like to plan out times to ride the rides and planning what park I will be in on a certain day and what meal I want 6 months out is crazy.

I do plan ahead but I never plan out which park on which day.

This new system would drive my husband nuts. He hates rushing to attraction to attraction and planning a time to eat. We like to soak everything in and do with the flow for the most part.

We plan on taking our grand kids in a few years and I am wary only because kids are spontaneous. I don't know what kind of mood they are going to be in 6 months out. I would hate to tell them they can't ride a certain ride because we didn't fast pass plus it at the time they wanted to ride it.

ShayBells 10-21-2013 12:07 PM

Oh and the only reason they are double dipping right now is cause they are only getting 3 choices a day for one park. And they usually get more. So in reality it's not much more different. IMHO

My trip is in 3days. I can't wait until it is fully rolled out.

The amount of people currently testing is nothing compared to how many people will be using it next year at this time.

Yes, now, in testing moving times is generally easier. Availability isn't that much of an issue. That, is not the reality of what this system will be like.

Anyone thinking they'll be able to move their 10:20 FP+ for Toy Story to 5:45 on the same day is not thinking very realistically.

Oh, no doubt. It just has to be realized what you tested is not what will be in place when testing is completed and FP- is removed altogether.

And some times that is the best solution.
I have to tell you d, one of the biggest con jobs is that Disney is the only place on the planet where families can have a "magical" time.
I realized that the world no longer was my "go to"place when I noticed we ate offsite more than we did on.
The food is lousy. Add that with other issues and we recognized that for us, it's no longer the same.
And you know what, we are discovering a whole bunch of places where we have just as much fun. We're going on our first cruise in May and I'm more exited about that than I've been for Disney in quite awhile.
Now we go for 3 or 4 day weekend and that's enough.
Disney has changed, for me the changes have not been good so I'm ok with moving on.

swald91 10-21-2013 12:18 PM

I've been saying this right along! It forces us to plan -my husband just asked if we have dinner reservations but by the time you try to plan these FP+ you're stuck in a park and really can't go with the flow....I don't like how you plan a trip maybe 45 days out & you cant get into restaurants....whatever happened to VACATION??? What I do know is that we need a vacation after our Disney vacation..:rotfl:

You cannot really classify it as scamming when DISNEY is TELLING guests they SHOULD and CAN do this. Had two of them tell me this when I had to call their helpdesk.

AmyB2006 10-21-2013 12:26 PM

I think when people are no longer able to get double and triple FPs, it will help the situation. I agree that is hypocritical.

I am just excited to finally get to ride TSM without having to have my whole family up at 5:30 am.

And I only plan on riding it once. I don't plan on pulling regular FPs multiple times so I can set the new record for how many times you can ride a particular ride during one day. Which I think some people honestly try to do. I don't understand that.

I think what he's saying is, don't complain that you can't get any FPs if you are one of the people doing this.
