looking for Disney workout music

Does anyone have any good Disney songs/remixes that they listen to for when they work out or walk/run?

AlyssinWonderland 05-28-2013 07:02 PM

Oh, I was just looking for some of those!

Silly as it is, I like Kiss the Girl by Ashley Tisdale. I also like Celebrate you by Corbin Blu.

Here's some information I shared a while ago -- hope it's useful! Also? Try Mickey Miles podcast!

**********

I ran some Disney music through a BPM analyzer And that's beats per minute for the uninitiated -- you use it to match music to your running / walking rhythm. I find it super helpful for moving smoothly at my best speed.

You can find your desired BPM at sites like jog.fm. And here's the BPM of some Disney songs. Let me know if there's any super peppy ones I'm missing and, if I have it (or can be enticed to get it on iTunes), I'll add it to the list!

I love the newsies soundtrack. Been running to that for nearly 20 years I guess!

I also have some old parade music-remember the magic from the 25th anniversary of mk. I like Hercules as well.

Thanks! I may have to raid my DD's cd collection to see if she has these already somewhere. And it's not silly at all. I really enjoy some of the High School Musical music and Disney Radio music. Although I'd never admit that to DH. ;)

That's super helpful, and what a great list! Seeing Ugly Bug Ball makes me want to pull out my copy of Summer Magic. LOVE that movie!!!

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I know my SIL has the Newsies soundtrack. I'll have to ask to borrow it.:)

Love Go the Distance from Hercules

Check out DisneyMania... There's some decent remixes in there.

I have 5 hours worth of songs on my playlist, ranging from Disney movies to remixes to park music. If people care, I'll be happy to share.

I would love to see your list. Having Disney music to walk to is really good motivation!

I shall now link you to a playlist of an album full of uptempo Disney songs. :p

Some of the songs are a bit weird (IMO), and it's from Japan, so you'll have to have an open mind in the styling of some of the music, but they're all dance tunes, so PERFECT for working out to. I loved it so much I actually searched and bought the actual cd for this in Japan. It's pretty in real life, all holographic and such. :goodvibes

Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twUYX...816F0B7466FBA1

PS: My absolute favorite is the "Part Of Your World" remix. :cutie:

That was great! I've never heard anything like that before, but it's definitely going into the list. :thumbsup2

As a wanna be CM, I focus on finishing my workouts because I want to be able to make it through a parade/show with no problems, and be fit enough for it.

I usually run to Move It Shake It, FOTLK, Dream Along, and those kind of things. THey're all around twenty-thirty minutes and it's super easy to add intervals into the running speeds/resistance by using the sections of the parade/show

McKelly 06-03-2013 04:20 PM

The Cheetah Girls have some upbeat music!

Zim 06-09-2013 08:54 PM

Ok its not Disney so please forgive me but I love the music of Dreamworks and Blue Sky animations as well and half the songs from Rio are amazing to walk to. And my daughter says Brave's Touch the Sky is a good one.

aggielawyer 06-10-2013 11:57 AM

I came here looking for a list, so I'm glad someone has already asked the question. I'm training for the Wine and Dine half marathon, and I happened to think on Saturday that it would be fun to have enough Disney music to take me through the race.

One song I came up with on my own was "You Can Fly, You Can Fly, You Can Fly" from Peter Pan.

There are a couple of awesome songs on the Goofy Movie soundtrack. I can rock a run to "Stand Out" and "Eye to Eye." Even "After Today" has a great beat.

Another, somewhat bizarre, choice is the "Mob Song" from Beauty and the Beast. It has a really strong marching rhythm.
