How long are unused Dining Plan credits valid?

I used the search, but could not find anything..

When we are on the dining plan for a 5 night stay and we do not use all our credits, is it possible to use them when we are heading back to Disney World a few days later for a room-only stay?

Both stays will be in a time frame of 14 days.
We added a few days more on our tickets so that we can use them when we are back for the room-only, are the unused credits also still valid or will they expire after the end of the 5night stay

Dining credits must be used by midnight on the day of checkout. You would not be able to use them for the room only portion of your trip.

No, any credits associated with your first stay will expire at midnight after you check out.
