Social media.

Okay, so yesterday I was at a concert in New Jersey when I get a call from my brother saying to "come home right now" so I asked him why and he goes "the police are here and they want to talk to you." The concert had already started so I obviously didn't leave but he continues to tell me that “Disney notified the police that I had posted a tweet saying 'I will not hesitate to jump of the Brooklyn Bridge if I don't get into DCP.'” So, the police officers just came to make sure I was alright and didn't take my own life... I know we're not suppose to joke about jumping off bridges and all... But, like, C'MON... It was a *HA HA BEING SILLY, FOOLING AROUND, TALKING TO MY FRIENDS, JOKE!!* and then send cops to my house...? I would NEVER try to kill myself... Like, ever... Long story short... Disney WILL check your social media sites if they're not private. Even then, they have ways to get around it. BUT, HERE'S THE BIG QUESTION:

Does this mean I'm not going to get into the program?

Oy...

Assuming you aren't feeding the trolls on this one...

In this day and age, everything is taken literally...while you may have meant it as a joke, someone else may not have. Perception is reality

So endeth the lesson...

Not sure how I feel about this one

I do know that Disney does look at those groups, because a friend of mine (who is a current CM) posted something that she thought was common knowledge, but really it was not and considered confidential. Disney contacted her and asked her to remove the post. She didn't get in trouble, but probably would if she continued.

So Disney does look at social media of its employees.

I think it is more likely though that someone else in the group became concerned and contacted the police, perhaps saying they were from Disney or perhaps it was not mentioned at all and the officers were confused with the fact that the information was posted on a "Disney Group".
