New to the cruise? Need help, weather, boat......
Hi thanks for popping in! We are thinking about taking our first cruise. Three adults 5 kids, 13-9 yrs old. Concerned about the hurricane season when is it? Lololololol ! Which boat?? We want to do just a quick one first 3-4 night. Rooms? Think 2 adults and 2 children in one room and 1adult and 2 children in the other.
A veranda is a must. All post I see say do not use your points. Ok! Any advice is good! Thank you!

Hurricane season is officially June 1-November 30th.
Were you looking at this year or next?

Realize with Hurricane season the tropics are more active during the months of September-October.

To get best price and choices, you probably want to book as far in advance as possible - unless you are willing to wait for last minute deals. Right now, you can look at fares through Dec. 2014 - the 2015 itineraries won't be out until sometime later this year (hopefully?) or early next year. So comparing 2014 and 2015 prices won't really be an option.

What you can do is book something for 2014 if it's in your price range, then change the date to a cruise in 2015 once those are released if you like that price better (though I'd expect 2015 to be generally higher than 2014, but itinerary can make a difference).

I'd go for 4-nights, though obviously many people do the 3-night cruises. Just seems that you barely get a chance to "figure it out" when the cruise ends.

Cruise ship staterooms are generally smaller than a standard hotel room. Depending on family dynamics you may be comfortable with 2A 2C in a room, or some families prefer more space and book 2 staterooms especially once the kids are teens. Personal preference. You certainly can do that size party with 2 staterooms as you indicated.
