Dining with someone not on the DP

My family and I will be visiting WDW in a few weeks. We are staying onsite and have the DP. We are meeting up with friends while at the park. They are staying off-site and not on the dining plan. We would like to have a few TS meals with them. How does this work? Do we need to note this on our reservation? Can we tell the server to put it all on one bill, but we will take our TS credits and pay the remainder out of pocket?

You can't pay for people not on the DP with your DP credits. The server will ask if you are on the DDP, just tell them who is on it and who isn't and they'll split up the bill.

Your KTTW card will say how many adults and children are in your party. They won't charge more than that.

You don't need to note anything on the reservation...just ensure that you book for the correct number in the party (your family plus the others) and then tell your servers who is on the plan and who is not. They will bring you two bills...one bill for you which covers your family on the dining plan and one for for your friends who would be paying OOP.

This happens all the time and they are quite used to it. If you wish to "treat" your friends by paying for their meal, you will still get two separate bills and you can pay for what your friends order with either cash, credit, gift card or your KTTW card.

We did this with our family all last week. Some were on the dining plan and some were not. No problem at all. You will get two seprate bills. Even though you can't use TS credits for those not on the dining plan we did share somethings with our non-dining plan family members especially the desserts. In our group we had kids (10, 12, 15) who are on the adult dining plan and just don't eat that much food so it naturally just happened that the extras got passed around a bit.
