Need suggestions please
Though we have been to Disney numerous times for some reason I am having problems deciding on restaurants this time. Last few trips have been adult only and we have tried new places but the next trip will be us and our grandchildren and they each get to bring a friend. So we will have 2-17 years olds and 4-12 year olds. Not knowing how picky of eaters we have we will not be doing the dining plan and already have the Table in Wonderland Card. Plan on doing breakfast in the room most days, and even some lunches since I know they will want to be at the pool. Need ideas for places that have a nice variety so everyone will find something they like.
For kids that age I would go with...:scratchin:scratchin
50's prime time
Sci fi diner
Yak and Yeti
Beaches and cream
:cool1::thumbsup2 Good Luck!!!:)::yes::
I would add:
Grand Floridian Cafe
Wolfgang Puck Express (DTD)
Earl of Sandwich (DTD)
Sci fi dine in theatre at Hollywood Studios is a cool restaurant, each pair of kids can sit together and the food is decent--especially the milkshakes!
Via Napoli at Epcot has pizza & Italian and would likely be a hit with the kids.
Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom is new and has impressive theming. I'm not sure if the menu will appeal more for lunch (quick service) or dinner (table service)), but they might like checking out the new castle.
Other restaurants that they might find appealing include Ohana at the Polynesian, ESPN Club at the Boardwalk and some Downtown Disney restaurants. My kids enjoyed Teppan Edo in Epcot's Japan and Coral Reef in Epcot, but I'm not sure about your group.
My kids love when I ask their opinions about restaurants, so consider letting your grand kids help pick out where to dine!

I have two almost 14 year olds and a 16 year old and when we were planning our upcoming trip these are the places they said they wanted to east at:
DS- was 15 1/2 when we asked him and he said he 'HAD' to eat lunch at Earl of Sandwich (downtown disney) one day and dinner at Ohana and a dinner at Cape May
DDs- they were 13 1/2 when asked and they also picked Ohana and one DD (who is a bit young for her age) looked through a book we have and asked to try Garden Grill for a dinner buffet.
I pretty much begged them to pick Sci-Fi (we went in 2006 and I have been wanting to get back ever since) but they ALL said 'NO!!!!!".
They also love Boma (mmmmm...next time) and Liberty Tree Tavern (don't know why but they always ask to go there) and Biergarten.
So: Ohana, Boma, Cape May, Liberty Tree Tavern and Biergarten they have been to and LOVE (these are all buffets/family style all you can eat). I see a pattern here. We are only doing Cape May and Ohana this trip (buffets/family style are set prices and pretty hefty at that...so we limit how many we do each trip...we have TIW card too). And they like Earl of Sandwich (CS).
My kids love Ohanas, Crystal Palace, Wolfgang Puck Express and Whispering Canyon
Sci Fi is always a must do for us .. We have 2 boys, 10 and 13
My 13 year old's only request was "the fried chicken" place - 50's PT.
I'd stick with pizza and burger places, who doesn't like that? :flower:
