Holiday Cruises
 

What makes a holiday cruise (such as thanksgiving or christmas) such a special cruise? Do you get a special meal on the holiday or do anything special? It seems crazy they almost double the price for christmas. We did New Years cruise for 2012 and had a blast!pixiedust:

Just off Christmas cruise and we were offered a holiday menu on Christmas Day. We received a token gift, as did out teen and a box of chocolates. We made gingerbread houses and Santa showed up. Christmas cookies and hot chocolate were served Christmas morning in the atrium.

We did not pay too much more than what we normally pay, but we did book far in advance with an OBC discount.

There are a few special touches on the holiday cruises, but the real issue is supply and demand. Christmas--kids are out of school and a fair number of businesses shut down between Christmas and New Year. Don't have to take vacation time from work + kids out of school = high demand.

The cruises near the holiday have many of the same touches, but not all. For example, there is gingerbread house making all thru December on 7 night cruises on the Magic, but the holiday meal and gift are only on the special holiday cruise.
