NO rooms at CSR end of summer?
 

We are DVC and have enough points for 7 nts at BCV. We typically stay 7 nts DVC and 3 nights either before or after at either value/mod (last year had to try out AoA). Really wanted to try CSR this year but there are NO rooms available on any nights during the 2 week period we could be there (our exact dates are flexible over a 2 week period, we want 10 nights total, 7 DVC 3 CSR). Do they hold rooms in case a convention books and then release them to the public? According to the 2013 convention schedule nothing is scheduled over the dates we are trying to book (mid-end Aug). I find it odd that without any special offers out (free dining, etc) the resort is COMPLETELY sold out, all nights, all room types this far in advance.

I would try calling. I tried reserving online one time for CBR and they were full for the three days that we wanted. I called and magically they found us a room for those three days.
I think when their inventory gets low, they do everything by phone only. At least it seems that way to me.

We see this ALOT with CSR and yes you are absolutely right. They hold out rooms and categories for coinciding conventions.. or even for conventions they are still negotiating and finalizing but aren't yet on any list etc.

You will usually start to see these rooms loosen up at the 3-4 month mark. You can always call and speak to an agent to confirm. I find the website has been ... well, let's just say that any adjectives I can use to describe their new website are decidedly "un-Disney".

I could not agree with you more. I just mentioned this very thing on another thread. As for CSR I just booked my stay for this resort for 11/29/2013- 12/6/2013 at the business club level on the old site. The new site did not even show this option. I could go on with other issues, but I won't. :furious:

Its not the website. They do have many rooms blocked off there for a convention of some sort. A mustang one or some crap. (Car show) Anyway this is where I wanted to stay next August hopefully with free dining and I can't even get a room there now.

i was looking to switch for the first week in sept. to csr no such luck for us either.

I had this problem this year for our beginning of November trip for CSR and ended up booking a room at AKL. Magically around June it opned up and I had no problem getting 2 rooms at CSR. I had called before when they had no availability and they had nothing available either but told me totry again ini a couple of month. It looks like they hold rooms for a convention and then release them but just won't tell you that directly.

I know this is the 50th anniversary of the mustang, but these are the dates they should have blocked off 8-27 till 9-3. hope that helps some.
