Any seasoning/condiments help at kidiani village
We are staying in a 2 bedrooms suite with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. I understand pots and pans and utensils are provided, but how about seasoning like cooking oil, salt, pepper and sugar? How about paper towel, dish detergent and laundry detergent?
We are not going to cook much except breakfast. I would like to be able to do some fried eggs, bacons and such.
I called the hotel but the cast member seemed just read it from the computer things that I have already known. Also, does the room provide slippers like some big hotels do?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
There are no slippers in the DVC resorts. You should also bring your own dishwashing detergent and laundry soap and softener. There was a roll of paper towels but I don't know how long that would last you. Housekeeping only supplies a small amount. There is no cooking oil but I do think there were some sugar packets. I'm not sure about salt and pepper though. A good rule of thumb for staying DVC is if you think you need it, bring it with you! :thumbsup2
There is a small resort shop at Kidani, and a larger one at AKL that has a food section where you can probably find the things you need. Some people use Garden Grocer that delivers groceries to you at your resort.
You will have dishes, pots and pans, flatware, cookware items. You will get paper towels, dishwasher detergent and dish detergent. Extra trash bags will be in the bottom of the trash can. These will be replaced on day four, but if you need more, just ask. You will get a single use box of laundry detergent when you arrive and another on each service day. You will get either a single or possibly two pouches of filtered coffee. They do not provide the Mr Coffee style basket filters if you want more. You also need to provide your own coffee other than the one or two pouches you get on each service day.
There is no salt, pepper, sugar, flour, etc. You need to provide these yourself if you plan to use them. They do not provide fabric softener or fabric softener sheets. If you want them, you'll need to provide them.
You'll have service every four days if you booked through DVC (points or cash through Member Service). If you are staying seven nights or less, you will get your trash removed and towels replaced on day four. If you are staying eight or more nights, you will get a full cleaning on day four and trash and towel service on day eight. You cannot ask for extra towels, shampoo, etc other than what is provided unless you pay for those item. DVC is a timeshare and members pay for everything they request other than what is already in the villa.
If you booked through Disney Reservation Center, you will get a daily full cleaning and they will replenish your supplies daily.
This is not a luxury hotel like the Ritz Carlton. This is a timeshare. No slippers, no robes.
We always have a car, so I can run out and get those little things. We now have a CHEAP set of salt and pepper in plastic shakers that I bought at Publix for something like 99 cents.
But I am 99.99% certain that they sold those at the resort's store. More along the lines of $3, but still, it's there. I'm almost sure of it. They also sell coffee filters and paper cups and things like that at the resort store. Again, about 3x more expensive than at Publix.
While traveling I have not always been able to find smaller bottles of olive oil, though I always try because DH and I are doing Weight Watchers, and getting your oils in is an important part of it. I recently found small bottles of flavored olive oils at Cost Plus World Market. They are under 3oz bottles, so you *could* actually put those in a 311 baggie and take it onboard the plane if you're flying.
There are very basic, beginning coffee supplies, though those will be replenished if you are paying cash to Disney for the villa. We now have coffee filters we bring back and forth, and we pick up our own coffee during our shopping trips. I can't remember what we do for sugar.
