Remy or Palo alone

Anyone ever dine at these places alone? I am traveling with my children, all under 18. Which one would you recommend and which would be less uncomfortable. How about the Remy brunch?

I guess it would be whatever you might feel most comfortable with. I might suggest that you join your cruise meet. There maybe folks you can connect with and enjoy the dinning experence with.

I dine solo at Palo for brunch and dinner all the time and have a great time. I plan to dine at Remy when I travel on the Fantasy next year. Just bring a book and you will be fine.

For me, I would choose Remy.
I haven't done the Remy brunch yet, but that seems like a good choice if you feel uncomfortable with dinner couples.

I also suggest checking your cruise meet thread.
Lot of people skipping Remy and Palo because they don't have another adult to eat with.
Plus there are cruisers that wouldn't mind adding people to their reservation:thumbsup2

Good Luck:goodvibes

I cruise quite a bit with just my kids. I've dined in both Palo and Remy alone. I always bring my Kindle to read but rarely use it because it seems the servers are extra attentive and chatty when you are alone. I'm a SAHM and consider meals alone an absolute luxury and I try to do it whenever I can. :cloud9:

In my solo dining experiences, something skin to Remy would rate as the best - just enough interaction to not feel forced or weirdly awkward, enough conversation to keep it moving, it's somewhat prescribed. I personally find buffet style meals (aka Palo brunch) my least favorite solo dining experiences.

When we were on the magic two weeks ago there was a woman having brunch by herself. She had been there another day with other people but enjoyed it so much she came back by herself! :). They have her a great table and the servers really took care of her! :). She brought her kindle but never saw her read. Brunch was much less formal and romantic than dinner. Everyone was chatting at the tables and at the food stations. Even though DH and I had a great time, I was jealous of her! ;).

I traveled with just my DS & I and ate at Palo twice, brunch & dinner alone. No biggie for me I don't ever mind eating out alone or going to movies alone. They fixed several dishes & desserts for me to take to him!

I have dined at Palo alone more times than I can count and I never felt out of place or uncomfortable but if your concerned I would say that brunch would seem less uncomfortable. I was on the maiden voyage for the Fantasy and could not get a reservation at Remy's but I hope on my next Dream or Fantasy cruise I'll have that chance.

I've done Plao alone for dinner and a group brunch, din't feel awkward at all.

I did the Champagne Brunch on my own (DW doesn't like champagne or eat red meat, so most food options weren't that great for her). I had a very nice time. It didn't feel awkward or anything...the brunch starts with bringing a group of about 10 people into the wine room where you were provided with your first (well, from what I've read it's the only now) glass of champagne & some prosciutto, informed about what to expect over the following courses, then escorted to your table. I thought it was a nice way to spend an hour or two, and it gave my wife some alone time as well.

I'm hoping to be able to schedule both Remy and Palo brunch for our June Fantasy Eastern. I'm actually looking forward to a couple of quiet meals where I don't have to talk or entertain my children. I'm hoping to be able to just decompress and enjoy a couple of meals because I have a feeling the rest of the cruise is going to be go, go, go for us!
