December - Pop Warner

We are going Dec 4 -14th. We were there a couple years ago when Pop Warner was there. There was one day when they were all in AK. Is there a published scheduled at any point? It would just be nice to make other park choices on those days.

DHS is the park designated for their official party.

In the past, they have chosen one day to close DHS early at 5PM (with no Fantasmic!) for day guests,
and give that park over at that time to Pop Warner kids for a private party.

That day is Dec. 5 in 2012, but this year, however, they will close DHS at 7PM for the Pop Party, and they WILL offer Fantasmic! to all guests at 6:30PM.

We have ADR's at the 50's PT that night at 6.50. I'm guessing we will be fine but should I change my ressies just in case?

I have been at WDW the same time as PW for at least 7 times, 6 of them at the same resort--the most recent was last year. I am Childless by Choice and can by NO means be considered Child Friendly. Yet I have NEVER had any issue with PW kids! I have found them to be poilte and respectful and even conversive on the buses. One of my all time favorite Disney memories is teaching the electric slide to about 8 middle school boys on the streets of America one night when it was all but deserted during OL!

1- Likely.

2- Not necessary, but you can if you like.
(Do you intend to see Fantasmic! on some other night?)

Yes, and the Osbourne lights as well. I've already changed my ADR's about 5 zillion times already and can't go through changing them again! So I think I'll just make sure we get to the park around 6 and to the 50's a little early.

Thanks King Robo.

Their published schedule is at Wide World of Sports, either football games or cheerleading events. They don't schedule parks except for the evening party at DHS. Groups are free to go where ever they want in their free time. I've been there during that time and it was never an issue, saw small groups here and there.

Just a little update for ya'll. My 6.50 ADR at the 50's that Robo and I thought would be safe wasn't.

A very nice lady from Disney Dining just called me about said ADR. I asked her if it was because the Pop Warner kids had the Studios that night and she said yes. So she was able to reschedule us for a little earlier in the evening.

So if you guys have ADR's at the Studios that night, just a heads up that you might be getting a phone call to change it.

And way to go Disney for calling me about this :thumbsup2

It looks like they have just now decided that they do not want to operate the restaurant much past public closing time.
In MK, when they close the park for a party, they generally allow later ADR's there.

Could be more of a "Whoops, we didn't get enough Pop Warner ADR's to warrant later staffing."

I was also thinking that perhaps they didn't want to worry about people wandering around after their dinner. I know there is a F! that night at 6.30 but it seems like it would be much easier to control getting those people out of the park than people leaving restaurants at various times after the park has closed.

Could be, but they knew about that situation before today's phone call.

They've done these parties for years.

You won't know until a few weeks before when they publish it on their website.

There is always a moderate and a value.

The moderate the last several years has been POR. Last year, they did stay at CBR, because of the refurb at POR, so there is no telling which one they will be at this year.

No one knows for sure, but someone did run the package for that week at CBR and it is pretty booked up, while POR still has a fair amount of openings - so our guess is that it is CBR if they have blocked out a lot of rooms for that week.

But I doubt they will be given the opportunity to book pirate rooms.

Most likely CBR for the moderate because all the standard rooms there are soldout.
