Seaworld crowds in August?

Hi;

We (DW, DD11 and I) will be in Orlando Aug 01st to Aug 06th and would like to visit Seaworld on one of those days. For those of you who have been to Seaworld recently, is the park very crowded? Are crowds smaller on certain days of the week?

Thank-you in advance,

August isn't horrible because some kids start heading back to school. Seaworld is always less crowded than Disney or Universal/IOA, and usually Mondays and Tuesdays are the slowest days of the week with Saturdays being the busiest.

Weekends will be the busiest because locals and other Florida residents add to the crowds. The week you are there will be the week before school starts in some of the near by counties so might be more last fling of summer Floridians there.

The thing about crowds that differs from Disney is that the shows are in large stadiums and in theaters that can hold a lot, too; so you will mostly just notice crowds if the sidewalks are clogged with people. It doesn't seem like you are standing in lines as much at SW as you do at WDW. You probably will need to get to the stadiums about 15-20 minutes before the shows start to get the better seats.
For the rides expect a line but rarely 60-90 minutes wait like some at Disney during the summer. Sometimes the lines to order or pick up food (like at Voyagers) will be the longest lines you are in all day.
On crowded days it takes forver to get out of the parking lot so we generally take our time in the park, stop at the bakery or ice cream shop and sit down and wait for crowds to thin out. Much easier to leave an empty lot than one with no one going anywhere. <g>

Hi;

We will be visiting SeaWorld on Friday, Aug 03rd.

We are mostly interested on shows than rides and would like to stay and watch Reflections.

May I please ask those who are familiar with the park to recommend/share a 'touring plan'?

Thanks,

Hi msr709;

We have just returned back from Orlando...

We visited Seaworld on Friday Aug 03rd and Sunday Aug 05th.

The park was busy but not crazy busy like Disney parks.

We arrived at the park around 11:30 AM and where able to see all the good shows (A'lure, Blue Horizons, Clyde and Seamore, One Ocean, Shamu Rocks and Reflections fireworks) with good seating by arriving at the theaters/stadiums 30 mins before the shows.

We planned our 'Tour Plan' by keeping a gap of 1 hour between shows - Each show is approx 25 mins long , and walking to another show was apprx 10 mins, allowing us to be at the next show apprx 30 mins before start of the show.

We skipped the 'main' rides - Typical wait times were 50 mins and were closed during rain/lightning/thunderstorms. (However, my daughter (DD11) did go on a few kiddy rides and the wait times were apprx 5 mins).

We bought our tickets from AAA (or CAA in Canada) for $74.95 - Each ticket included a 2nd visit free plus one meal combo (1 entree, 1 side/dessert and 1 soft-drink) at most restaurants - I think this is the best deal for tickets. (Meal combos are approx $15.00).

We had fun at a relaxed pace...

Thanks,

The only bad part about the timing of the trip is it rains almost everyday during then and when it isn't raining it's soooooooooooo hot! :confused3
