Easter Baskets at Resorts (esp. Pop Century)

We will be spending Easter at Disney and staying at Pop Century. Since we are flying we will have limited space to carry items, so is anything available now at the resorts such as pre-filled Easter baskets? Has anyone seen these and how much are they? What are the alternatives? Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

We will be at the POR for Easter...arriving on Friday April 2nd, although we are not flying I too had decided Easter baskets would take up too much room so I bought the normal size gift bags, bought both in yellow because we have boys...I bought swim trunks/goggles/slinkies/some candy(not much)/and a few other things to put in their bags/Easter card w/disney dollars that I had bought before they stopped selling them and plastic eggs I will fill w/candy...

I also bought a smaller gift bag, with a cute note pad/btl of Bath and Body hand soap/and a lil candy/card to leave out for our Mousekeeper...

I am sure I will see something in the gift shop that I will buy to drop in their bags too...

If you have girls I saw some cute gift bags...they gift bags can be packed very easily...

I am hoping maybe the gift shop at POR has chocolate mickeys to put in the bags....

We were at POP for 2 nights last Easter weekend. They were making up baskets right outside the food court by the gift shop. I think they were about $25 and up depending on the contents. I thought some of the "magic" was lost as they were making them up right in front of kids at the resort.

We have gone to Disney most Easters for the last 12 years or so and we usually arrive on Friday or Saturday before Easter. I always pack "Easter" type gift bags and grass-easily squishes into the carry-on bag. Our family always hits downtown Disney the first night. I usually "disappear" while DH has the kids at the Lego store (they never even know I'm gone) and do my bunny shopping. I get the Mickey ear rice krispie bars, chocolates, the little box of cookies and whatever other goodies look good. I also get Disney gift cards to put in their "basket" and the kids use those as their spending money while we're there.

We LOVE Disney at Easter-especially EPCOT! Hope you enjoy your special time with your family.:wizard:

Thank you

Thanks for the info from past trips. I agree that does lose some of the magic doing it that way. I have some good ideas to consider.

Call the resort directly

We're staying at the Dolphin for Easter and we were able to order (through the health club) an Easter basket that will be delivered Easter morning to our room - by the Easter bunny I think, not sure. It was $55, but I'd end up spending that much or more if I had to run around buying stuff next weekend. Plus we're only bringing carryon luggage, so I have no place to pack stuff.

I would call your resort and speak with concierge or someone to see if your particular hotel is selling Easter baskets. Have a great Easter! :thumbsup2

I know the gift shops have little candy bars with characters on the wrappers... but at the Main Street Confectionary, they have milk chocolate & milk chocolate Mickey faces! In Dec, they were about $8.50 with tax.

Some other ideas!

They sell large tins filled with cookies and such. Stash the cookies for later and use the tin (our friends did this). We brought the gift bags. Found the 2D ones with a big bunny on them (they are made of stiffer tag board).

I've not seen any chocolate Mickeys for sale. I have seen some regular chocolate rabbits this year at WDW. You could always get the regular Mickey chocolate candy bars.

We've taken collapsable baskets (cloth material with a large spring inside) and packed them in the suitcase. You can buy these at Wal Mart for a few bucks. They also sell prefilled plastic eggs which I also packed and hid in the hotel room. The kids still talk about the time the Bunny came to our hotel room and hid those eggs. :thumbsup2
Pack a few must haves in your luggage (like choc bunnies, jelly beans, etc.) but by the majority of trinkets at DTD. Goofy's Candy Shop has some cute character choc. suckers and other candy.

Thanks for all the great info on Easter Basket / candy purchasing at WDW...I am so excited and can't wait...this is gonna be the longest week ever...

I'm at POR and this morning I was walking around the gift shop and they had a couple of filled Easter baskets for sale. You could also purchase an empty basket and wrap and make up your own Easter basket.
