Still Feeding Nebo: The may trip final chapter pg 122, Dec. 31
IN the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.......and it was good.

On the seventh day, He rested.

On the eighth day He created Walter Elias Disney.

"Diane, to coin a phrase from AnitaAnswer, This is Nutz!
"What's nuts?"

"This trip keeps blowing up bigger and bigger than Barry Bond's head."

I was looking at the schedule, numbers, costs again.
her: "Yeah, it'll be great, won't it?"

"I'm just saying, we're leaving on the fourth, driving down, staying at the Hard Rock, CBR and then Coranado. That comes to um, ,, um,,, many much days."
"And many much bucks!"

"So what would you prefer we do , "DEAR?"

uh oh, this conversation isn't going as planned. Especially since it wasn't planned in the first place.
And reespecially when she says "Dear" in quotation marks.

"Honey?" good
"Dear!" not good

"I'm just sayin' that you know my situation at work, I'm more than likely to be out of a job by then."
"And I'm not really looking forward to living under the bridge over the Fox River in a box."

her: "Well, look at the bright side."
"Yeah? What?"
"We won't have to worry about the cable going out."

Hi, my name is Steve, and this is my wife Diane. Say hello Diane.
"Hello Diane."
"Fine Gracie, I'll meet you in the car."

We are both confirmed Disneyholics. We have taken the twelve steps, then asked for five more.
Let me introduce you, I mean us;

Protagonist A; Diane, aka Smidgy, the better half, (grr), Dobby, and, She Who must not be Disturbed! A mother of two fine sons, a granny of three.

Antagonist B; your author; name of Steve, aka Nebo, (dumb nickname),Sharkbait, and "Hey You" sometimes "Dear"
I am a 52 year old machinist by trade, handsome, dashing, quick witted hunk of a guy who likes children, puppies, love stories and long walks on the beach.
Hold it. Whoops! That's supposed to go on the OTHER web site.

I am 52, bald and a machinist though.

I also can't see in the dark.
Or up close.
Or far away.
Or middle away.
But I CAN, just barely pass the eye test, therefore, I drive.
Well, at least I passed 4 years ago, it's coming up again.
I'm giving you all this boring info now cuz it will come up later on.
I also have a bad back, and have had five operations on my foot from a work accident. Even have part of my hip in my foot, grafted in. (boy, there's a line there somewhere, I just can't find it)

What I said earlier, about the money thing was/is, true. I've been with the place for 27 years now, and seen it go from 144 people down to 8.

I'm not too worried though.
The way I figure it, we have enough money to last us till the rest of our lives.

Unless we have to "buy" something.
Anyway, this is now my third trip report in less than a year. A lot of you might be wondering, "How come I keep seeing a Nebo name on the boards, and where was he before?"

The answer is quite simple.
For some reason, it took me forever to find the Dis, and when I did, I spent a lot of time lurking.

And the other reason is that I never realized I knew how to type.

Well, kinda.

But I truly enjoy sharing our thoughts and opinions on all things Disney with people that love it just as much.
Especially since our friends won't listen to us anymore on the subject.

So, what I hope to do here on this thread is not only share our experiences, but have a few laughs along the way. Honest, sometimes I can be funny. Just ask my fifth grade teacher.

One other thing about us.

We are both on our second marriage.
The strange thing is, is that we both had the same spouses the first time.

We were married for 21 years, got divorced in '99, in 02 I called her up and asked her if she had any money. "Want to split a trip to Disneyworld?"

I guess the divorce just didn't work out either.
In '03 we decided that since we didn't kill each other the first time, we'd try it again.

( the marriage part, not the killing each other part, geesh!)

And on we keep going. This will be our ninth trip to Disney, many times with multiple Disney resorts, I'm not driving down for just a few days.
And the seventh time without the kids. We keep asking, they keep having excuses. ( i think it's her)

We have flown twice, driven down the rest of the times, so I believe we have reached the ranks of Disney Veterans.
Or at least Veteranarians.

Let me give you our itinerary.

Leave early Friday morn, drive as far as we can, get a motel.
Second day make it to the Comfort Inn in St. Augustine Beach.
Third day, check into the Hard Rock Hotel in Universal for three nights.
Then on to Carribean Beach for four night, with the Dining Plan.
And finally, a six night stay at Coranado Springs resort in Disney.
Plus a cheap motel somewhere on the way home, probably in Kentucky.

See? I told you this was Nutz!

I understand that this is a Disney site, but I hate to leave the other stuff out, because it's all part of the trip. And comparisons will be made.
To me, it's important for all of us to keep the balance between Disney and Universal. Competion is a good thing. The more they try to outdo each other, the better rides we get!
No, Universal is not Disney, never, ever will be, that's why we always do it first if we're going there.

Then we go to the Magic.

But Uni's not bad, and like I said, competion is a good thing. Hey, untill Universal put in "The Mummy" ride, "Expedition Everest" was going to be "Bunker Hill."

So, I guess there you have it. I'm sure Smidgy will be checking in often, to make sure I don't "type" her in a bad light. (and rightfully so) , so, at times you will not only get my views, but hers as well.

I know most of the Dissers are younger folks, with kids, but this is the kind of trip that could be you in 15 years.

The Santa Fe is pulling out of the driveway at 3:30 friday, May 4th.
All of you are welcome to come along with, don't worry, we'll find room, Diane can pack anything.

I'm thinking once the kid is out of high school, he gets a job in WDW, and I stay for free.;)

Can't wait to hear all about the magic. Hope there were no hospitals involved.

WoooHoooo. I've been waiting for this. Did ya see DaVine, huh huh, didja didja?
Making my ADR's tomorrow for our first trip. This trip report should be done just about the time I get to leave the day after Thanksgiving. Yeah, 6 months should about do it. Of course you probably should get it done before the free dining trip. Also, when does football season start? Before hockey, that I know.
Can't wait to hear about the dark rides, the food and the drugs.

:scared1: Omigosh!!! It's may 26th!! Did I miss the train? Oh, duh, guess I don't do well with flashbacks (or flashforwards- anybody watch Lost?) Anyway as I run alongside the train as it pulls out I hope Dobby, I mean Smidgy, can get all our stuff in (not a very good packer myself).

Anywho, this should be fun!
Welcome back!

WooHoo! I'm jumping on the nebo train! Seeing you start a new trip report is a great ending to my really crappy day! So how many pills did you go thru this trip?

UtahMama 05-27-2007 01:34 AM

I'm fine as long as I'm in from the beginning. I want to by stock in this enterprise or at least sell snacks from the concession stand to your readers, which will be MANY. Mind blowing numbers guaranteed!

This is the much awaited, controversial (just tell us everything about Universal- some of us are curious!!!) and don't leave out any juicy detail, especially if it involves you making a fool out of yourself. :rolleyes1

GREAT start! You are a superstar, Neeb! :cheer2:

I just spent a half hour trying to figure out how to "quote" (can you put the word "quote" in quotes? or do they cancel each other out? oops, I did it again; I think I'm beyond my quote quota). I ended up locking up the computer. I tried to erase my "bad, bad dobby mistakes, but the rubber end of my typewriter eraser only smudges up the screen, and the brush end scratches it. I tried to copy what I wrote but the carbon paper makes a big mess. (you kids have NO idea what carbon paper is, do you?) lexmelinda... HELP!!!! hey, this might work:
nebo: "I'm just saying, you know my situation at work, i'm more than likely to be out a a job by then" (hey, it worked just as well!).......
yup, we kept waiting for the other person to say, "honey, this is really stupid, we really shouldn't take this trip." but I COULDN'T say it - I'M the eternal optimist in the family. and if I'm going to skip off to my fictitional neverland, who better to do it with? (ok, with nebo it's more like hobble and limp, but I keep telling him it LOOKS like he's skipping, and we're both happy with my little white lie).
so skip off with us to our neverland which, to us it never-be-without-it land, no matter what. (just don't trip, cause you're not getting any of nebo's vic's!)

dvc at last ! 05-27-2007 07:42 AM

Subscribing !

I have read many things that Nebo and Diane have written

Looking forward to more. :cool1:
