Dh wants me to cut ADR list (again!)

Just curious why you would drop the CG breakfast? I going for the firs time next month. Is it only because of the inconvenience to get there is you are not in the boardwalk area, or something wrong with the food? !!
Kinda a nuisance to get there if you aren't starting from there. It's perfectly good food, but it's not blow-your-mind special.

The below block gave me a little pause. Not because of the restaurants, but the "intensity" of the type of food that is being served and the type of dinner service over multiple days in a row. I think Saturday, drop Yachtsman, and have a late afternoon/early dinner meal while you are in Epcot Center. I am thinking someplace like the Morocco counter service restaurant, or even similiar types of places as you walk around Epcot Center.

Thurs-resort am-boma & AK
Fri-DS-paddlefish
Sat-late captains grille breakfast-Epcot-yachtsman dinner
Sun-church/chill am -narcoossees dinner

Clearly not set in stone..
But here goes:

Sun-DHS-50's PT
Mon-Epcot-garden grill
Tue-MK-diamond horseshoe
Wed-resort am-Boardwalk -trattoria
Thurs-resort am-boma & AK
Fri-DS-paddlefish
Sat-late captains grille breakfast-Epcot-yachtsman dinner
Sun-church/chill am -narcoossees dinner
Mon-MK-skipper canteen
Tue-DHS-brown Derby
Wed-Epcot-coral reef
Thur-MK-plaza

Apart from one day that's one TS per day. What about that does dh object to. Is it the actual places? The cost of the actual places? Because you'll need to eat, And I never felt that one TS per day is overdoing it.

I've never been to Diamond Horseshoe but the most recent review I've read...and the pics I saw...you don't wanna go there. I don't see a big problem with any of our other choices and most of them are very nice! :)

My personal thoughts:
50's PT lunch - Never been. We were supposed to go last trip, but Rin got sick, so it didn't happen. Trying to go again this trip. I'd keep it.
Garden grill lunch - I love Character Meals, so I'd keep.
Diamond horseshoe lunch - Never been, no interest in going. I'd drop.
Trattoria al forno dinner - Never been, looks tasty though. No strong opinion.
Boma dinner - Keep. I'm a Boma fan.
Captains grille breakfast - No strong opinion.
Yachtsman steakhouse dinner - Keep, one of the better meals I've had at WDW.
Narcoossees dinner - This one's tough. I used to absolutely love Narcoossee's. It was my top WDW restaurant. But my last visit was miserable. If you have nowhere you'd prefer to go, keep it.
Skipper canteen lunch - No strong opinion.
Brown Derby lunch - I have no desire to go here, but everyone raves about it. Keep.
Coral reef lunch - Keep. I've heard not great things about it, but I've loved it each time I've been there (mind you, it's been a few years) and the view is amazing.
Paddlefish lunch - No opinion.
Plaza lunch - No opinion.

Yes, drop Diamond Horseshoe. We ate there last May and I'd use my TS on a CS if Diamond Horsehoe was the only TS option.

I quite agree-we need to eat & food is good :rolleyes1

There's a few reasons for his objections..

He doesn't want too much food-Ive told him he can share entrees with dmil,or choose apps

He doesn't want tied to adrs every day/he's happy with cs

He's worried dmil may not be able to attend all reservations and then she'll be jealous of us eating without her or we dont make the reservation

I'd use my TS on a CS if Diamond Horsehoe was the only TS option.

Someone is vying for the most use of acronyms in a single sentence:earboy2: I've found myself doing that too, it happens when you hang around here long enough.:earsboy:

We are staying at ssr, pofq & offsite.
Our trip is 14 nights & CG breakfast is a late start/lie in day.

I didn't see when you're going but as an FYI, Captain's Grille is being relocated to Ariel's at BC during YC's refurbishment this year. The a la carte menu will be available, but the buffet will not.

I was aware of the relocation-but not the menu changes.

Thanks for this.

50's PT lunch
Coral Reef
Garden grill lunch
Diamond horseshoe lunch

You couldn't pay me to eat at these places, and I'd LOVE to have a proper restaurant at a revolving restaurant in the land. Are you "ok" with comfort food? Because 3 of those certainly are...I loved Coral Reef as a child, and every couple of years I give it another try hoping for that magical experience again, and I'm disappointed:( It stinks!

BTW - can't wait to hear more Paddlefish reviews. I hope its delicious!

And you have awesome problems deciding where to eat. Everyone is different, go with what you like!

Based on food quality (or rather lack thereof ;)), I would drop:
  • Coral Reef
  • Diamond Horseshoe

Coral reef is one of those we've had ADR's in the past then cancelled
I really just want to experience the interior with dmil more than anything
We are going!
May just be a coffee and cake stop though..

And you couldn't pay me to miss garden grill & 50's PT,lol.

That's not good at all.
I've read of long waits-but our ADR is 11.30am-so Im hopeful that won't be an issue.
If indeed we go!
coral reef is one of my favorites. our food was very good when we went (see my review if you care). 11:30 is the PERFECT time to go, show up about 15 minutes early and request a table near the tank, the restaurant is just opening then and you will get it.

I would drop diamond horseshoe... like others, never read anything good about it and not a huge fan of AYCTE formats in the middle of the day. Also I would drop captain's grill, that is a very short epcot day with late breakfast outside the park then dinner outside the park again. I'm sure it's a nice breakfast but doesn't sound worth traveling for. Although you do have 14 days so maybe you are fine with a short Epcot day, I'd not want to pinch it on both ends like that.

Epcot is my least favorite park so I really don't mind, lol.

For various medical reasons we don't tour all day long-a few hours is what works for us.
Generally early starts, lunch & return to resort.

I'd also drop Coral Reef. It is overpriced for mediocre food. Since you will be visiting during May, there will be all kinds of food booths for Flower and Garden festival. It seems like that would fit well with your DH's desire to eat smaller portions without being on a schedule. Alternatively, the World Showcase has tons of great QS options in each country.

Does 50's primetime do the meatless meatballs still? I was looking at menus last night because we do our ADR's next weekend and all I saw for vegetarian dd was veggie lasagna. I might have been looking at outdated info . She would be happy to have it afterall.
