We have always driven down and parked at the port (This time we are flying in the night before and renting a car) but yes I think I remember reading that if you are taking Disney transportation you won't have a check in time. The buses begin running to port at around 9:00 and go back and forth until 1:00 transporting people to/from port. You should get information in your cruise packet about it if you booked transportation through DCL.

Are you talking about the Fish Extender pouches you hang on the door for people to place your gifts in? You can buy one from different places online (Etsy has some not too unreasonably priced). Or you can make your own. I made ours from felt pieces I got at Hobby Lobby. It's not the most extravigant or professional looking one, but it's cute and cost me around $5 to make. Do you use pinterest? There are lots of ideas for homemade fish extenders there. We are just reusing the one from our first two cruises. I'll see if I can post a pic. Maybe someone else can chime in about where they got or how they made theirs.

When should I expect the cruise packet?? Does it come by email or USPS?

It will come by USPS and should be arriving any time now. Most times you get it within 30 days of sailing. Your luggage tags will come with it too. We have been eagerly checking the mail for a week now to see if it's arrived yet!

Our cruise packet has arrived! So excited. Only 37 more days until we are on the Wonder. Also, finished our door magnets. The pic is not good, but they turned out pretty cute.

I don't think those are allowed. If you scratch/damage the wall or door DCL charges a damage fee. They are pretty particular about those things. The Fish Extender hangs on the fish on the wall beside your stateroom. Just need a ribbon or some type of small rope attached to it so you can loop it through the mail slot. Here's what they look like:
