Hello! We're Disney fans who are very comfortable with WDW and DL, but have never been to Paris or DLP. We'll be in Europe next month and are really thinking we'd like to do 1 day in Paris and one at DLP. We already have our hotel booked for our stay and it would cost more to rebook the hotel than what it would cost to get a refund on a room for a night or two. So I'd like to minimize hotel nights in Paris/DLP. I think it's best to do two nights? Fly in the first evening, spend second day at DLP, third day take the Magical tour to Paris and leave from there to the airport to head back to Italy. Does that sound like the best plan?
Also any tips for DLP? Just DH & I. We're staying on site.
DH is coaster and SW fan. I don't like anything that spins or goes upside down. Quite a few rides will be closed for refurbishment. :( So the ones I plan on doing: Armageddon, Blanch-Neige er les Sept Nains, it's a small world, castle, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Phantom Manor, pirates of the Caribbean, Studio Tram Tour. DH will probably do ToT, SM, RC racer, IN jones, crush. I'm not sure on Ratatouille? Any on this list we should take away? Any to add?
One of the trivial things I'm a little concerned about are the lines. Is there a lot of line cutting? I know this would/will bother us a bit. I do realize it's a different country, and am just trying to prepare. Is the expectation that you just stay in line or is it a free for all of sorts ?
Should we expect low-moderate crowds? We'll be there in a weekday.
If anyone made it through this, thanks! :) I appreciate any suggestions!

I hope you enjoy your trip! Since you're staying onsite make sure you get the most out of extra magic hours and remember to visit the dragon under the castle!
I'm not sure on your dates, but I know Ratatouille is closed the last week of November, if its open it is worth a ride though! but if you're only doing one day you might want to just stick with one park as the parks will close early next month.
Line wise, we've not experienced much cutting other than kids who have parents further up the line, but make sure you keep an eye on the line because if it moves and you don't, there will be people who walk around you!
I would think crowds will be low while you're there, there could be school trips there at the same time as you but it should make much difference if there is. We went last November and queue times were really low.

Make sure you are in the Disneyland park for 8.00 to do Extra Magic Hours. You will be able to do Peter Pan, Dumbo, Carousel and Tea Cups in Fantasyland (in that order) and then do Buzz in Discoveryland. (Your DH can do Space Mountain) Then head over to the Studios at about 9.30 am. Get your husband to get in line for Crush while you get a Fastpass for Ratatouille (Definitely experience this!) Then ride or experience anything else in the Studios during the morning.
Go back into the park for a late lunch then enjoy the other attractions and Christmas things in the park. Make sure you stay for Dreams!
If you need to rest and don't want to go back to your hotel you can relax in the Disneyland hotel at the entrance to the park!

Just returned from a trip to France with my first ever visit to Paris Disneyland.

We spent multiple days in Paris with just one at Disneyland.
It was just my GF and I as well so that made some choices easier.

To start, yes you can hit most everything you are looking to do in one day, but for me, it felt a bit rushed. I generally like to take a leisurely approach when I'm at DLR, and the pace of a one day visit can sometimes get in the way of that feeling of being in another place and time if you know what I mean. By the end of the day though, the Magic was starting to show for me and I was beginning to appreciate the differences from our US Counterparts.

Disneyland Park had quite a bit of refurb going on right now, especially in FrontierLand. This seemed to thin the crowds and queues for the rides I was most excited about with only a couple exceptions. Peter Pan, just like at DLR, had a long queue with nearly a 1 hour wait all day so we decided to skip it. Most other attractions were in the neighborhood of 10 min or so which made it pretty easy to experience most of the rides in a surprisingly short time. I got quite a kick out of French Churros (aka crepes). lol :) Phantom Manor and POTC were the biggest draws for me, and were very cool/unique versions of the rides I know so well back here.

Walt Disney Studios had much more attendance it seemed and longer queues overall so I'd be sure to have a plan going into there.
I was pleasantly surprised by Ratatouille. :) It was much more fun and unique than I expected and appropriately fits the Parisian locale. I recommend FastPass or single rider on that one if you can, as standby was an hour for it (Crush's Coaster and RC Racer also had 1hr standby lines).
ToT was identical to DCA's version and Rock'n Roller Coaster felt close to what I remember from DHS @ WDW. Both were excellent as expected, but if experiencing what's different is more important to you and DH, then you can safely skip those and not feel like you missed something unique to France.

Overall, it was a short visit, but a worthwhile one. I have no doubt the two of you will have fun, just as we did.

Seeing Paris in a day, that's another story...
Do whatever is most important for you to see first thing in the morning as crowds and lines grew pretty long by mid day. Especially at the Security Checkpoints many of the monuments have.

Thank you everyone! I keep forgetting about the shows. I'll definitely make sure we see those.

One more question - should we base out of Paris or DLP? Plan is to fly in late Tuesday, spend Wednesday at DLP, Thursday sightsee Paris until about 3 pm. I couldn't get a late flight so I'm second guessing our plans. So if we're in Paris we'll do the one day at DLP (leaving Paris at 8 am and DLP at 8 pm) and maybe be able to get an earlier start sightseeing Paris. If we're based in DLP we'all probably have to do a private car tour of Paris (leaving DLP around 8 am-ish) on Thursday. We're leaning toward staying in Paris. Would 10 hours be enough to see the rides listed there?

I live in Paris so I have kind of a bias, as I believe Disneyland Paris is a much more enjoyable place to visit than is Paris. Whichever your choice, transportation is easy: the parks is only 35 minutes train from inside Paris. While 10 hours may not be enough to fully enjoy the atmosphere of both parks and major attractions, it is more than enough to enjoy a glimpse of the parks.

I believe from your post that you wish to enjoy Paris more, maybe you should base yourself in Paris, do a quick visit in DLP, and return back at another occasion to spend a few days in a Disney hotel?
