We are sitting outside the Wilderness Lodge after being evacuated. RCFD is here but no updates from staff. Anyone know what's going on?

Update: They let us back in...but still didn't give any info. If anyone knows what the fuss was about that would be helpful! Seems like the WL staff could use some training on emergency evacuations. That was a bit of a mess.

More than likely there was some form of a fire alarm activation. As for not letting the guests know reasons, that's what the CMs are trained to do. Giving out information can lead to incorrect information getting from one person to another, ever played the game telephone? If the CM seemed a bit flustered it was likely due to just the fact that they were responsible for moving so many people in so little time, human nature.

Literally, the most stressful night of my life was when I was working as a hotel Night Manager. A strong chemical odor started filling the hotel. It was on every floor, so I gave the evacuation order and called 911. Once outside, all I could do was wait and hope that all the guests were smart enough to follow the recorded instructions and leave the building. The fire department were on the scene in under 2 minutes, but it took a long time for them to figure out the problem.

(A cleaning crew for the adjacent office tower had set up some sort of noxious cleaning chemicals right under the main air intake for the hotel's HVAC system. It was right next to the huge warning sign that forbid that sort of thing. Thankfully, the only side effects to the odor were headaches.)

Obviously, we weren't there, so it's hard to know exactly what the "bit of a mess" was. I do agree that Cast Members wouldn't share more information beyond telling guests that the fire department gave the "all clear" to go back inside. Honestly, I'd bet that most Cast Members wouldn't even know exactly what happened until they got back inside, anyway.
