We are heading to Orlando in 2.5 weeks and I just got confirmation today. Staying at Rosen Shingle Creek resort, through my husband's employer.

Tell me the good, bad, and the ugly!!!!

Been a few years but LOVED the resort! Had a beautiful room overlooking the pool area. We loved the pools, they are relaxing, low key type - no water park style fun. We spent one day in a cabana. The food court/store area was priced comparable to Disney. We opted to not eat at any of the table service, they were nice but expensive. Great location to drive to any park from. The down side is the parking is a jaunt to the hotel since you have it by the big convention area. I'd go back in a HEARTBEAT!!!

If you are a spa person, check for any specials. DD was able to get a great spa deal there. Explore, there are walking paths and it's a resort worth exploring.

We have stayed there many times. It is a beautiful resort and the rooms we have stayed in have all been lovely. We have always had club privileges and the choices at breakfast are typical and appetizers at night have always been substantial---no alcohol is included. There is a market downstairs that actually has pretty good salads and sandwiches. We have also enjoyed the restaurant near the lobby--can't recall the name---it serves flatbreads--very good.

@JohnDaleswife , did you end up staying there? I'm attending a conference next spring that is there. Wondering what you thought of it, and if there are any ways to score a discount?

I remember getting Shingle Creek and the Rosen Centre during the recession for like $55-$65/night,I think they also charged a resort fee and parking but it was worth it.I stayed at Shingle Creek a few years later during Christmas and they had amazing Christmas events on many nights, maybe not as good as Ice at Gaylord Palms but it was really nice.As a PP mentioned the hotel is large and aimed at convention goers and golfing,I believe it has multiple pools that are pretty nice but low key,no lazy rivers or waterslides. The location is good being close to the convention center,I-Drive,Sea World and not far from Disney or Universal.

Stayed there in 2014 with my DW and have to say it was a lovely resort. Was there just before christmas and the decoration was beautiful. Staff were very polite and it was a very clean considering the size and how busy it must get with conferences so often. Food court was a bit pricey so didnt eat there apart from one night when we treated ourselves to a meal at the steakhouse, I think its called A Time Remembered. Expensive but one of the best meals I have ever had. We had a starter and a main and couldnt eat half of the main so took it away. If I were to stay offsite in a hotel again I would definatley look into here again.

Stayed for a few nights in 2015 after winning on Priceline and loved the place.
