birthday pin ( how long is too long when wearing it in park )

Last trip I let my daughter wear her birthday pin the whole trip. She'll be doing the same this trip. She's 7 (nearly 8) so I don't think it's a big deal.

If I ever get to go to Disney for my birthday (in the less awesome month of March - I prefer October), I'll probably wear the birthday pin the whole time.

I wore mine only the day of because my 5 year old insisted that was the rule. I was a little sad that I didn't wear it the rest of the time because I loved people wishing me a happy birthday. Seriously made me giddy. Maybe it wouldn't have if it was all week?
Do what you'd like - if someone notices or cares you wore the button for more than one day, they're just a grouch.

Every 2 years we are in WDW for my birthday. On the actual day. I wear the pin on that day and maybe one more day after. Anymore than that is exhausting with all the birthday wishes. Plus when it's that much before or after your actual bday, you forget that people are actually wishing you a happy birthday, since it's really not. Let the people who are actually having their bday on that day have the fun!

I'm excited about wearing my bday at the park but told wearing it more than one day was getting excessive
What are your thoughts ?
Honestly, I don't think it matters at all. As long as you aren't *expecting* free treats or magical surprises for wearing it (which aren't a guarantee, whether you wear it one day or multiple days), then I don't think there is any harm in either.

Now, if you expect those magical moments or surprises for wearing a button and get upset and complain to GS about not receiving anything, then that very well could hinder the future experience for others (by disney just deciding to not do those things anymore entirely). In that case, I wouldn't bother to wear one at all as there is never a guarantee, nor should there be.

We took our daughter to Disney for her 13th birthday. This was her gift from us...10 days of birthday celebration! She wore her birthday button most of the time and the extra special treatment was appreciated by all of us.

I let my child wear it the whole trip, but took mine off like 2/3 through day one.

I say whatever you feel comfortable with.

We have worn Anniversary buttons when it wasn't really our anniversary week, but it was our trip celebrating it (a few weeks before or after).

Wife has worn Happy Birthday button 3 weeks before birthday.

No one is going to card you and check. Just have fun!

You do whatever you want.
As an adult, I would only wear one on my actual birthday.
For a kid, if the trip is to celebrate the birthday, I could see going a week (or the duration of the vacation)

Your birthday is only one day, correct?

I'm with you Kathy. These are the "rules" we play by. We've been there a number of times around our birthdays but will only wear the buttons on the actual day. It's just a little more special to me that way in my humbled opinion. I know it shouldn't but it drives me crazy when I see an entire family wearing birthday buttons. There is NO way everyone was born on the same day.

I was on line at Epcot 3 years ago and wearing my pin. A lady poked me and said in a very snarky manner that if it really was my bday

It's amazing what can upset people these days. Like why me wearing my pin would upset someone

I've never understood how this can be such a divisive subject.

The way I've always seen it is that if this is deliberately a birthday vacation (as it will be for my partner in January) that it's OK to wear it. I also marked one of our ADRs as us celebrating a birthday as funnily enough it's her birthday celebration meal.

A lot of people just can't celebrate specific events on the exact date (again which applied to us as she couldn't get vacation time on the 22nd but could a week later) so it seems fine to me.

If you are there on a birthday trip i would imagine wearing the pin for the entirety of the trip would be fine.
