Twin beds....adults

Thinking about my grandparents today, popped into my head as I was folding sheets, that they slept in single beds. I believe it was fairly common back then, but got me thinking, do any couples sleep in twins anymore?
DH and I have always had a queen and love the Kings when we vacation. I have read about people on the boards having the split King, but not the same as twins. Even if I wanted to, my DH would not be happy with this.

Anyone?

My condo elevator is about 4'x5", and I am on the 6th floor - so anything bigger has to be carried up the stairs. Post Katrina when there was no delivery so my only choice was to buy twin beds that I personally hauled upstairs. Nothing else would fit in the elevator as there was no help to haul stuff up 6 floors. Same thing with couches- no go. I had 4 twin beds in the 2 BR and 4 chairs in the living room. When I met DH there was no way to even sit next to each other.

We finally bought a queen temperpedic knock off from Overstock (rolled up and fit in elevator) and a platform bed.

My parents and my DH parents all sleep in separate rooms. My DH mom is the only one in a twin bed.

I join the crowd sleeping in different rooms. My husband works odd hours (very early morning...he gets up somewhere between 11:30 pm and 2:30 am), and I am a night owl. We tried for awhile to continue in the same bed, and it didn't work. I either disturbed him or he disturbed me or both. We both were not getting quality sleep. And you need quality sleep to enjoy other marital benefits, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. You sure don't need to be sleeping in the same bed at night to do that! LOL. I have a queen, he has "our" king. No way, no how would I want a twin bed anymore!

My parents had twin beds. My dad died when I was 8 so I was too young to think it was weird. Somehow they had 4 kids. I try not to delve into thoughts of logistics.

My mom said she didn't like sharing a bed. My mom is very petite and my dad was was a big guy so I think she was afraid she'd be gripping the edge of the bed every night.

I cant even imagine sleepng in a twin bed-even most kids i know sleep in a full sized bed. My daughter gave up her twin bed for a full sized bed by the time she was 8!

My paternal grandparents have been in twins for as long as I remember. My dad says it's because of my grandfather's snoring. My maternal grandparents also recently began sleeping in separate rooms because of my grandfather's snoring.

I'm betting that when my brother and I move out, my dad will find a new place to sleep because of my mom's snoring.

I agree with everyone saying that they couldn't imagine sleeping in a twin bed. I do know quite a few people that sleep in separate bedrooms due to snoring. I must say that has crossed my mind more than once. DH snores big time. Usually, I can deal with it but there are nights, I am awake for quite awhile. Just speaking with my boss the other day, said he's sleeps in another room...he gave up a California King, with pillow top. He is on the old bed in the guest room.

When I used to travel I would trash the lobby if they tried to put me in a room with a queen bed and I traveled alone!

Not sure what they had earlier, but my grandparents on both side had a king size bed. I believe both beds were purchased after the all the children flew the nest. I have a cal-king. I hate sleeping on anything smaller than a queen.

I have slept in twins but never liked them. I always felt like I would fall off. I need a king for all four of now.

I would love to see my 6'4 husband try to sleep in a twin! He barely fits in our queen. My grandparents share a full sized bed... which I cannot fathom.

I have a twin bed now, and I'm only 5'2" and my dog is tiny. The two of us barely fit. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to sleep in a twin, married, single or whatever. If my room was bigger, I'd have a double bed, at least.

By myself? Sure, no problem sleeping on a twin, in fact I did it pretty much up until I was married. Still do on occasion and I can also be perfectly comfortable sleeping on a much narrower couch.

DH & I have a queen and enjoy snuggling, spooning and sleeping together just fine. When we stay at a hotel, we'll get a king if it's available.

It's interesting some of you say you couldn't sleep in a twin. You do realize that if you share a queen with your partner, that you have less space per person, and if you share a king, it's the same (width) as two twins and only the length is longer by 5 inches?
